Free Eververse Items in Destiny 2 – Overview

With the Monument of Triumph update, Destiny 2’s Eververse store went through its biggest overhaul ever. The weekly rotation of FOMO cosmetics is gone. In its place is a more permanent, player-friendly system that gives you multiple ways to earn and spend cosmetics for free — at your own pace, with no expiry dates.

There are four main routes to free Eververse items in Destiny 2 right now: login rewards, Bright Dust farming, Legendary Marks, and the Triumphant Rewards Pass free track. Here is exactly how each one works.

Method 1 – Claim Your Free Login Rewards First

The very first thing you should do when logging in after Monument of Triumph is head to the Special Deliveries kiosk in the Tower — it sits between Banshee-44 and Rahool. Every player who logs in after Update 9.7.0 receives a starter package that includes:

50 Legendary Marks
2 Bright Engrams
Toast to the Monument emblem

Do this before anything else. Spend nothing until you have claimed these. The 50 Marks alone let you buy a couple of event weapon engrams from the Tenet vendors right away.

Veteran Player Rewards

If you were active through earlier years of Destiny 2 content, you may also automatically receive the Old Lights emblem and the Elemental Qi emote — a quiet nod from Bungie to Guardians who stuck around through the entire journey. Method 2 – Earn Bright Dust for Free

Bright Dust is the in-game earnable currency used to buy cosmetics directly from Eververse without spending real money. In Monument of Triumph, the amount of Bright Dust available for free has increased and the ways to earn it are more consistent than before.

How to Earn Bright Dust

Seasonal Hub challenges: The Seasonal Hub is your main ongoing source of Bright Dust. Complete weekly and daily challenges to earn it regularly. The Monument of Triumph update increased the weekly amounts available compared to previous seasons.
Triumphant Rewards Pass free track: The free track of the Triumphant Rewards Pass includes regular Bright Dust allotments as you level it up. This is available to every player at no cost. More on this below.
Standard Bright Engram decryption: Decrypting a Bright Engram without focusing it (standard decryption) still has a chance to award Bright Dust directly. This is the only way to get Bright Dust from engrams — Focused Engrams only give cosmetic items, never Dust.

Note: Zavala’s weekly Arsenal Credit buyback no longer pays out in Bright Dust as of Monument of Triumph. That buyback now awards Chronologs instead. If you were counting on that as a Bright Dust source, adjust your planning accordingly and focus on Seasonal Hub challenges for your weekly Dust income.

Bright Engram Focusing – Spend Dust to Get Exactly What You Want

Monument of Triumph added Bright Engram Focusing — a dedicated tab inside the Eververse store. Instead of getting a random cosmetic from the entire loot pool, you can now spend Bright Dust alongside a Bright Engram to target a specific cosmetic category. Focused Engrams guarantee an unowned item from your chosen category and never produce duplicates.

The categories available for focusing are:

Shaders, Legendary accessories, or flair — 300 Bright Dust
Exotic accessories and Legendary emotes or finishers — 600 Bright Dust
Exotic weapon ornaments, Exotic emotes, and armor ornaments — 900 Bright Dust

The pool for each category is finite and drawn from all nine years of Destiny 2 Eververse cosmetics. Every time you claim an item, it leaves the pool permanently. Bungie is not restocking or adding new items, so the pool will only ever shrink over time. When a category is nearly empty, the preview window will show you exactly what remains — you always know what you are getting.

Standard decryption (no focusing) remains free and still has a chance to drop Bright Dust, which is useful if you want Dust rather than items.

Check the Daily Offers Tab First

Before you spend Bright Dust on focused engrams, check the Daily Offers tab in Eververse. It refreshes every day with a rotating selection of Silver and Bright Dust purchases. If a specific item you want is coming up in the daily rotation, you may be able to buy it directly for less Bright Dust than focusing would cost. Always check this tab before committing to a large focusing spend.

Method 3 – Earn Legendary Marks Through Triumphs

Legendary Marks are the new permanent currency added in Monument of Triumph. They are earned entirely for free just by playing the game and completing Triumphs. There is no weekly cap, no expiry date, and no way to buy them with real money or Silver — they are purely earned through gameplay.

There are 204 Monument of Triumph Triumphs in total, each rewarding 15 or more Marks on completion. The Triumph pool spans the entire history of Destiny 2 — raids, dungeons, Crucible, Gambit, destinations, playlist activities, Distortions, scenic spots, and even Tower secrets. There is genuinely something for every type of player.

Quick Ways to Earn Marks Fast

Scenic Spot Triumphs: Visit specific viewpoints on each destination. These award 10 Marks each, require zero combat, and can be done in patrol at any time.

Where to Spend Legendary Marks

Spend your Marks at the four Tenet vendors located in the Tower Courtyard behind the Monument. You must make one purchase at the Tenet of Bravery first to unlock all four vendors. The cheapest option is a 2-Mark event weapon engram — do not blow your starting 50 Marks on the first ornament you see just to open the other vendors.

The four vendors and what they sell:

Tenet of Bravery: Exotic weapons (Fafnir, Heir Apparent), armor ornament sets, emblems, and all endlessly repeatable weapon engrams at 2 Marks each
Tenet of Devotion: Sparrows, Skimmers, SRL cosmetics, and emotes
Tenet of Sacrifice: Ghosts, Ships, finishers, and Universal Helmet Ornaments
Tenet of Death: Chatterwhite shader, Exotic armor ornaments, raid and dungeon cosmetics, and the Einherjar Coronet

Some items require both Marks and Triumph completion before they unlock for purchase. The Chatterwhite shader, for example, requires completing Hawthorne’s weekly Vault of Glass Deepsight quest before it can be bought. Method 4 – The Triumphant Rewards Pass Free Track

The Triumphant Rewards Pass is the final Rewards Pass in Destiny 2. It has no end date — you can progress through it at whatever pace you play, indefinitely. Every player has access to the free track at no cost, and it includes Bright Dust allotments, cosmetics, and other rewards as you level it up.

The paid track of the pass unlocks additional cosmetic rewards, including armor ornament sets, shaders, emotes, a finisher, a Holochip, and the Turncoat Exotic Hand Cannon at Level 1 (free track players unlock it at Level 70). Players who already own Renegades, Year of Prophecy, or the Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition automatically receive the paid track at no extra cost.

The free track alone provides meaningful Bright Dust over time, so even if you do not buy the premium tier, it is worth progressing through.

Tips for Getting the Most Free Eververse Items

Claim login rewards immediately. The Special Deliveries kiosk between Banshee and Rahool holds your free 50 Marks, 2 Bright Engrams, and emblem. Collect before spending anything.
Do the cheapest Triumphs first. Scenic spots, Tower secrets, and simple destination tasks give fast Marks with minimal effort.
Check Daily Offers before focusing. A direct Bright Dust offer may save you Dust compared to focusing an engram for the same item.
Unlock all four Tenet vendors early. Buy one 2-Mark engram from Tenet of Bravery. That unlocks all four vendors and opens the full reward catalogue.
Use Standard Decryption if you need Bright Dust. Focused Engrams only give cosmetics. If you are low on Dust and need to top up, use a standard decryption instead.
Farm Marks across all content types. Raids, dungeons, Crucible, Gambit, Distortions, and patrol activities all have Triumphs attached. You do not need to focus on one mode — spread your play naturally and Marks accumulate fast.
