What Is the Citrine Pot in Final Fantasy Resonance?
The Citrine Pot is a special enemy in Final Fantasy Resonance. It belongs to a group of enemies known as Magic Pots — a classic enemy type that has appeared in Final Fantasy games for decades, going all the way back to Final Fantasy V and VII.
These pots look small and harmless. But the moment you try to fight one the normal way, you will quickly realize something is off. Your attacks barely scratch it, and whatever damage you do deal gets fully healed on its very next turn. That is not a bug. That is how Magic Pots work.
The good news? Once you know the trick, beating the Citrine Pot takes about ten seconds.

How to Beat the Citrine Pot in Final Fantasy Resonance
The Citrine Pot cannot be beaten with brute force. It has 99,999 HP on Normal difficulty, it nullifies both physical and magical damage, and it is completely immune to every status ailment in the game — Poison, Sleep, Silence, Paralysis, Petrify, and more. You will not be breaking through those defenses no matter how strong your party is.
So how do you actually win?
Every time the Citrine Pot takes a turn, it heals itself and yells “Gimme an ether!” That is not flavor text. That is the solution. The Pot is literally telling you how to beat it.
Step-by-Step: Give the Citrine Pot an Ether
- Enter the battle by interacting with the shining pot on the ground.
- Wait for the Citrine Pot to take its turn and announce what it wants.
- On your character’s turn, open your item menu.
- Select the Ether from your inventory.
- Change the target to the Citrine Pot before confirming.
- The Pot will say “Yippee!” and knock itself out — and the battle ends as a victory.
That’s really it. One item. One action. Done.
Just make sure you actually target the Pot when using the Ether, because items like Ethers default to targeting your own party members. Change the cursor over to the Pot, then confirm.
Citrine Pot Locations in Final Fantasy Resonance
There are two Citrine Pots in the entire game. Both are one-time encounters. Once you beat them, they are gone for good.
Citrine Pot Location 1 — Siren’s Tower (Chapter 1)

The first Citrine Pot is inside Siren’s Tower, which you visit during Chapter 1. Look along the left side above a flight of stairs inside the tower. You will spot a glowing pot on the ground. Walk up to it and interact with it to start the battle.
If you need help navigating this area, our guide on how to get inside Siren’s Tower walks you through it step by step.
Citrine Pot Location 2 — Mobliz Shipyard (Chapter 2)

The second Citrine Pot is in Mobliz Shipyard, found during Chapter 2. From the second room of the area, use the elevator on the left side. Then walk a few steps forward and head right. The Citrine Pot is sitting inside the fenced section near a chest in the upper-right corner.
Why Normal Attacks Do Not Work on the Citrine Pot
If you have been throwing everything at this enemy and getting nowhere, here is why.
The Citrine Pot has two passive abilities that make normal combat pointless:
- Nullify Physical — all physical attacks deal no damage.
- Nullify Magic — all magic attacks deal no damage.
And on top of that, it heals up to full HP on every single turn. So even if a rare edge case lands some damage, it gets wiped out almost instantly. There is no element weakness either — Fire, Ice, Thunder, Water, none of it matters. You simply cannot damage it through normal means.
The only way through is the item it asks for.
Citrine Pot Rewards — Is It Worth It?
Yes, absolutely. Spending one Ether on this fight is one of the best trades in the early game.
Here is what you get for beating the Citrine Pot:
- EXP: 55
- Gil: 100
- MRP (Mastery Rank Points): 120
- Rare Drop: Elixir (30% base chance)
The MRP payout is what makes this worthwhile. Pot enemies give significantly more MRP than regular enemy encounters. MRP is what you use to rank up your equipped Visions and unlock their skills. Getting 120 MRP from one quick fight is a great deal, especially early in the game when Vision skills make a real difference in combat.

Pro Tip: Switch to Expert Difficulty Before the Fight
Here is a trick worth knowing. You can change your difficulty at any time outside of combat. If you switch to Expert difficulty before starting the Citrine Pot battle, you earn more MRP from the fight without it actually being any harder — because the mechanics of the fight do not change. You still just use one Ether.
After the fight is over, you can switch right back to Normal. It is an easy way to squeeze extra value out of these one-time encounters. For more on this, check out our guide on best settings in Final Fantasy Resonance.
Can You Rematch the Citrine Pot?
No. The Citrine Pot is a one-time encounter. Once you beat it by giving it the Ether, that specific Pot disappears permanently. You cannot come back and fight it again.
This is true for all Magic Pot enemies in the game. They only appear once, which is why it is always worth taking the fight when you have the item ready. Do not skip these encounters.
What to Do If You Do Not Have an Ether
If you approach the Citrine Pot and realize your inventory is empty, just run away from the battle. The Pot will stay in place exactly where you found it, so you can come back later after restocking.
You can buy Ethers from item shops in any town. Make it a habit to stock up whenever you pass through a settlement. Later pots in the game ask for rarer items, so having a healthy supply of various items on hand saves a lot of backtracking.
All Magic Pot Types in Final Fantasy Resonance
The Citrine Pot is just the beginning. There are six types of Magic Pots in Final Fantasy Resonance, and twelve total encounters spread across the game. Each one asks for a different item. Here is the full list:
- Citrine Pot — needs an Ether (Siren’s Tower, Mobliz Shipyard)
- Viridian Pot — needs a Mist Ether (Wind Shrine, Water Shrine)
- Crimson Pot — needs a Turbo Ether (Underground Tunnel, Weapons Factory)
- Azure Pot — needs a Mist Turbo Ether (Arcane Library, Tower of Mysidia)
- Violet Pot — needs an X-Ether (Research Center Ruins, Sanctissimus Shrine)
- Pearly Pot — needs an Elixir (Crystal Tower, both pots)
The logic is always the same — listen to what the Pot asks for, give it that item, and you win. The only thing that changes is which item you need to bring. Keep your inventory stocked as you progress through the game.
