Final Fantasy Resonance: List of All Bosses

    By Eva Roberts · October 25, 2026 · 18 min read
    final fantasy resonance Siren
    • Final Fantasy Resonance has bosses across five categories: main story, side quest, optional/cave masters, esper trials, and endgame.
    • Every boss has one or two elemental weaknesses — hitting them triples your stagger gauge reduction.
    • The final story boss is Chaotic Darkness at level 55 inside the Crystal Tower in Chapter 8.
    • The hardest optional boss is Omega at level 99, requiring Lightning to break its massive 15,000 stagger gauge.
    • Sanctissimus Shrine in Chapter 6 is a full boss gauntlet — six fights back to back with no breaks.
    • Knowing weaknesses before each fight is the single most important thing you can do to win faster and waste fewer resources.

If you’ve been hitting a wall on a boss in Final Fantasy Resonance, there’s a good chance you’re using the wrong element. This game runs on the stagger system — hit a weakness and the gauge drops three times faster than normal. Stagger the boss and it loses its turn entirely while taking extra damage.

This guide lists every boss in the game: all main story bosses chapter by chapter, side quest bosses, optional cave masters, esper trials, and the brutal endgame fights that open up after the credits. Each entry includes the boss level, weakness, and the key tip you need going in.

How Weaknesses Work in Final Fantasy Resonance

Every boss in this game has an elemental weakness, and hitting it is not just a bonus — it’s the whole fight. Here’s why it matters so much:

    • Weakness hit: deals 1.5x damage and reduces the stagger gauge by 3x
    • Neutral hit: normal damage and normal stagger
    • Resisted hit: halves damage and stagger reduction
    • Immune/Absorbed: does nothing or heals the boss

A staggered boss cannot act on its turn and takes 1.5x damage from all attacks. That’s why a level 11 party can knock out a boss with 20,000 HP — the weakness does all the heavy lifting. Weaknesses stay hidden until you hit them with the right element, so having a party with broad elemental coverage matters a lot. See our best Visions tier list to find the right Visions for your team.

Final Fantasy Resonance Main Story Bosses — Chapter 1

Chapter 1 runs from levels 4 to 11. It introduces the stagger system across four story bosses and ends with the first real challenge: Siren.

    Belmodar — Level 4, HP: 2,000

    final fantasy resonance Belmodar

    Location: Earth Shrine
    Weakness: Fire, Dark
Key tip: Spam Fire with Rain right from the start. If you picked up a Flame Scroll I earlier, have Lasswell use it to burn down the stagger gauge faster. Don’t overthink this one — it goes down quickly.

    Hell’s Rider — Level 6, HP: 4,000

    final fantasy resonance Hells Rider
    final fantasy resonance Hells Rider

    Location: Grandshelt, the Royal Capital
    Weakness: Ice, Light
Key tip: Use Ice and Light skills to fill up the stagger gauge. Tronn’s Hibernal Fury Resonance hits super effectively here. Fire off Limit Bursts once they charge up.

    The Hunger — Level 9 / 10, HP: 2,500

    final fantasy resonance The Hunger
    final fantasy resonance The Hunger

    Location: Kolobos Ruins
Weakness: Ice (first form), Light (second form)
Key tip: This is a two-phase fight so don’t blow everything on the first form. Use Ice on form one — and try to stagger it before finishing it off so you get free turns at the start of the second phase. Switch to Light for the rematch form. The second form also brings two Enhanced Wraith Soldiers weak to Fire and Light.

    Siren — Level 11, HP: 20,000

    final fantasy resonance Siren
    final fantasy resonance Siren

    Location: Siren’s Tower
    Weakness: Lightning
Key tip: Equip Rain and Fina with Monk’s Prayer Beads to nullify Charm — Siren’s most annoying move. Focus Lightning with Cloud and Warrior of Light, and use Cloud’s Ascension Resonance after staggering her. Keep Fina on healing duty throughout. If you’re struggling to get inside the tower, check our guide on how to get inside Siren’s Tower.

Main Story Bosses — Chapter 2

Chapter 2 scales up significantly. Three back-to-back bosses at the Mobliz Shipyard are the standout challenge of this chapter — go in prepared.

    Liquid Thunder — Level 13, HP: 10,000

    Liquid Thunder
    Liquid Thunder

    Location: Mt. Thunderclap
    Weakness: Earth
Key tip: Immune to Lightning, so don’t bother. Target Earth weakness with Warrior of Light and Lid. Equip Fina with the Cape of the Raiju to halve Lightning damage she takes. Defend when you see it charging up electricity.

    Mom Bomb — Level 14, HP: 21,000

    Mom Bomb
    Mom Bomb

    Location: Dwarven Forge
    Weakness: Water
Key tip: Resists Fire so leave those skills at home. Use Cloud, Terra, and Zidane for Water attacks and summon Siren for extra Water damage. Most importantly — watch for the self-destruct warning and either stun it or burn it down fast before it goes off.

    Epimetheus — Level 16, HP: 3,645

    Location: Mobliz Shipyard
    Weakness: Lightning
Key tip: A miniboss that’s weaker than what you’ve faced recently. Kill it quickly to stop its status ailments from landing. Save most of your resources for what comes right after.

    Adrastea — Level 16, HP: 25,000

    Location: Mobliz Shipyard
    Weakness: Lightning, Water
Key tip: The real boss of this area. Hit both Lightning and Water weaknesses hard. Bring Cloud for his Ascension Resonance, and consider equipping the Physical Counter passive — Adrastea punches back.

    Aether — Level 18, HP: 34,000

    Location: Wind Shrine
    Weakness: Ice
Key tip: Immune to Wind, so drop any Wind skills. Load your whole party with Ice attacks — Tronn, Terra, and Noctis all work well alongside Lasswell. Tronn’s Hibernal Fury Resonance is particularly strong here. Kill minions quickly before they overwhelm you.

Main Story Bosses — Chapter 3

Chapter 3 takes you through Olderion and the water-themed dungeons. Lightning is the dominant element in this chapter — stack it.

    Wave Lopros — Level 20, HP: 21,000

    Location: Cave of Waters
    Weakness: Ice
Key tip: Focus on killing the Snappers first — they’re fodder that just wastes your turns. Bring a mix of Ice, Lightning, and Wind. Summon Carbuncle to defend against its AoE attacks.

    Water Dragon — Level 21, HP: 24,000

    Location: Old Town, Olderion
    Weakness: Lightning
Key tip: Attacks twice per turn using both physical and magic, so you need balanced defenses. Bring Ramuh and Cloud for Lightning damage. Let Fina focus entirely on healing and buffing.

    Leviathan — Level 23, HP: 40,000

    Location: Lake Dorr
    Weakness: Lightning
Key tip: The Orbs of Light protect Leviathan and need to be destroyed first — check each orb’s weakness before attacking so you’re not wasting turns. Once the orbs are gone, he’s vulnerable. Cast Shellga or summon Carbuncle to buffer against its heavy magic.

    Alluvion — Level 26, HP: 48,000

    Location: Water Shrine
    Weakness: Lightning
Key tip: Destroy the Prism Cores with Lightning attacks to weaken Alluvion. Immune to Water so skip those. Cloud’s Ascension Resonance shines here. A physical tank with Monk’s Prayer Beads and a Calm Armlet handles the magic hits.

Main Story Bosses — Chapter 4

Chapter 4 introduces Ignis — a boss you’ll fight multiple times across the story — and closes out with the Emperor and Lazarov in Zoldaad Castle.

Ignis — Level 27, HP: varies by form

    Location: Weapons Factory
    Weakness: Water (changes by form)
Key tip: The first two encounters with Ignis in Chapter 4 are scripted losses — don’t waste your items. His fire attacks are absorbed, not just resisted. Summon Carbuncle to reflect Firagas and provoke with a physical tank to redirect single-target hits.

Emperor of Zoldaad — Level 30, HP: 52,000

    Location: Zoldaad Castle
    Weakness: Water
Key tip: Kill the soldiers first before focusing the Emperor. Summon Carbuncle to reflect his status ailments back. Load everyone up with Water skills.

    Lazarov — Level 30, HP: 45,000

    Location: Zoldaad Castle
    Weakness: Earth
Key tip: Lazarov brings multiple experiment enemies with him — take them out first. He uses a wide variety of attacks, so bring Earth, Light, Fire, Water, and Wind coverage. Carbuncle helps reflect his offensive spells.

Main Story Bosses — Chapter 5

Chapter 5 is the longest chapter and the one where things get properly difficult. Recommended level range: 34–39. You’ll fight Tellus twice and face Dark Fina in a tough late-chapter encounter.

Phantom Train True Form — Level 32, HP: varies

    Weakness: Ice, Light
Key tip: Watch out for Doom — it kills a party member after a countdown. Clear it with Esuna or prioritize the kill before it ticks down.

    Slagworm — Level 33

Weakness: Wind | Immune to: Earth
Key tip: Immune to Earth so skip any Earth skills. Wind attacks are all you need. Watch out for Swallow, its devastating attack that can remove a party member from battle.

    Iron Giant — Level 34

    Weakness: Lightning
Key tip: Physical counter build — it hits back. Use Lightning and keep pressure on the stagger gauge.

    Liquid Flame — Level 34

Weakness: Ice, Water | Absorbed: Fire
Key tip: Never use Fire. It heals this boss. Ice and Water only. It’s paired with the Iron Giant in the Nameless Ruins.

    Typhon — Level 35

    Weakness: Ice | Resists: Wind
Key tip: Ice across the board. Its Snort attack can eject a party member. Stagger it before it can use Snort.

    Byblos — Level 36, Stagger: 1,200

    Weakness: Fire, Dark
Key tip: Found in the Arcane Library. Its big stagger gauge means this fight takes time. Summon Carbuncle to Reflect the spells it throws. Fire and Dark hits will grind it down.

    Dark Fina — Level 38, HP: 100,000

Weakness: Water, Light | Resists: Dark
Key tip: One of the toughest mid-game fights. She hits hard with Paradise Lost, can inflict Doom, and even uses Death. Bring a Ribbon to block status effects. Carbuncle helps reflect her magic spam.

    Tellus — Level 39, Stagger: 1,050

    Weakness: Wind | Resists: Earth
Key tip: Wind-focused party. Its Crushing Breath is the devastating attack to prevent by staggering it on time. You’ll fight Tellus again in Chapter 7 at level 49.

Main Story Bosses — Chapter 6

Chapter 6 is dominated by Sanctissimus Shrine — a full boss gauntlet with six fights in a row at levels 40–43. Come in fully healed, fully stocked, and with a plan for each one.

    Lux — Level 41

    Weakness: Dark | Resists: Light
Key tip: Found before the Shrine. Dark skills are key. Watch for Luminant Purifier and Dawn of Judgment — both hit hard.

    Elfdrit — Level 42

Weakness: Fire, Light | Resists: Dark
Key tip: Found in Gronoa Shrine. It can apply a lot of status ailments — have someone with Multi-Cover and a Ribbon equipped. Recuperate is its self-heal, so maintain high DPS.

Sanctissimus Shrine Gauntlet — Six Bosses in a Row

These six fights happen back to back with no rest between them. The shrine has steles in each room that hint at what to expect.

    • Archaeoaevis (Lv 40): Weak to Wind, but uses Barrier Shift to change weakness mid-fight. Cast Libra again after a shift to identify the new one. Don’t repeat Wind blindly after a shift.
    • Dad Bomb (Lv 40): Weak to Fire — not Ice. Resists Ice. Prepare Shellga and have Fina use Arcane Guard before its HP drops low — that’s when it casts Explode. Staggering it cancels the Explode.
    • Test Rider (Lv 40): Weak to Earth, Light. Build the stagger gauge while it’s calm and unleash your heavy hits when it enrages — its defenses drop then. Keep Protect up throughout.
    • Yakhanati (Lv 40): Weak to Wind, Dark. Switches between blocking physical or magic attacks. When it uses Assaulting Warcry, switch to magic. Watch for Paralysis Fang.
    • Arch Gargoyle x2 (Lv 40): Weak to Wind, Light. The two gargoyles can revive each other — kill both during the same stagger window to prevent the loop.
    • Dragon (Lv 42): Weak to Lightning. Hits with Flame Breath and Windstorm. A large HP pool — maintain Lightning pressure and keep shields up.

    Lasswell — Level 43

Weakness: None | Stagger: 9,999 (unbreakable)
Key tip: This is Rain vs. Lasswell, one-on-one. You fight him twice — the first phase has 5,000 HP, the second 30,000. The gauge can’t be broken, so this is a pure DPS and survival fight. Manage your healing items carefully.

    Gelidus — Level 43, HP: 200,000

    Weakness: Fire | Resists: Ice
Key tip: The chapter 6 final boss. Fire is everything here. It’s mainly a physical attacker — keep Deprotect off your party or it gets significantly stronger. Stormbound Smite and Glint of Verglas are its two big hits to watch for.

Main Story Bosses — Chapter 7

Chapter 7 rematches three bosses from earlier chapters at much higher levels (46–50), then closes with Umbra. Recommended level: 46–50.

    Aether (Rematch) — Level 46

Weakness: Ice | Immune to: Wind — same as before but tougher. Load Ice, kill minions fast.

    Ignis (Rematch) — Level 47

Weakness: Water | Resists: Fire — your first real shot at beating Ignis properly. Full Water party and a physical tank with Provoke.

    Alluvion (Rematch) — Level 48

Weakness: Lightning | Immune to: Water — same drill as Chapter 3 but the stagger gauge is now 1,500. Destroy prism cores first.

    Tellus (Rematch) — Level 49

Weakness: Wind | Resists: Earth — stronger than before. The 1,500 stagger gauge makes the Crushing Breath more dangerous if you’re slow to stagger.

    Umbra — Level 50

    Weakness: Light | Resists: Dark
Key tip: The chapter 7 final boss and one of the game’s most satisfying fights. Light skills across your whole party. Seal of Conviction is its massive devastating attack — stagger it before that move charges, or everyone needs to Defend. It also appeared briefly as an optional fight in Chapter 1 at level 17.

Main Story Bosses — Chapter 8 (Final Chapter)

Chapter 8 takes place inside the Crystal Tower. Enemy levels jump to 44–55. This is the endgame. The final boss is Chaotic Darkness at level 55.

    Dante — Level 50

    Weakness: Earth, Light
Key tip: Watch out for Crystal Lance. Earth and Light hits break it down quickly.

    Behemoth — Level 52

Weakness: Wind, Light | Resists: Earth
Key tip: Meteor is its big hit. Wind and Light stagger it fast — get the stagger before Meteor lands.

    Dark Bahamut — Level 52

    Weakness: Light
Key tip: Megaflare hits the whole party hard. Prioritize building the stagger gauge with Light attacks before it can launch Megaflare. Shellga helps absorb the hit if you can’t stagger in time.

    Sol — Level 52 / 55, Stagger: 1,400 / 3,000

    Weakness: Dark
Key tip: A two-phase fight. Sol uses Time Unwound and Ultima — both party-wide devastating attacks. Dark skills throughout. The second phase has a 3,000 stagger gauge so you need sustained DPS.

The Keen of Fury — Level 53

    Weakness: Earth
Key tip: Appears alongside Chaotic Darkness. It can summon Meteor. Earth skills, kill it first.

Chaotic Darkness — Level 55 (Final Boss)

Weakness: Light (changes by form) | Immune to: Dark
Key tip: The final boss of the main story. Never use Dark on this one — it’s completely immune. Light is the core element. It fights alongside Left Hand (weak to Wind) and Right Hand (weak to Earth) — deal with the hands to reduce the pressure. Its two most dangerous attacks are Ray of Apocalypse and Dark Abyss. The second form has a 1,700 stagger gauge, so keep the pressure up. Bring your strongest Visions.

Need to check which Visions are best for the final push? Our Final Fantasy Resonance Visions tier list has the picks ranked, and our complete Visions list covers every one available.

    Side Quest Bosses

Three bosses appear only during sub quests. None of them block the main story, but they can catch you off guard if you head into their quests underleveled.

    Poison Flora — Level 7, HP: 1,200

    Quest: Dream of an Idealist
    Weakness: Fire, Wind
Key tip: An early and easy fight. Spam Fire with Rain. You can take a little poison damage without wasting items — just don’t let HP drop too low.

    Imposter Soldier — Level 10, HP: 1,600

    Quest: The Weight of Mercy
    Location: Kolobos Ruins
    Weakness: Ice, Dark
Key tip: Stagger it quickly using Lasswell’s Dawn Frost. It can hit the whole party with Paralysis — clear it immediately to avoid everyone getting stunned at once.

    Blood Dragon — Level 28, HP: 10,800

    Quest: Medicinal Mission
    Weakness: Fire | Resists: Ice
Key tip: This one appears on the world map south of Olderion and cannot be avoided during the quest. It has Regen for the entire fight — passive HP recovery every turn. Hit it hard and fast with Fire so the healing never catches up. All four party members should have Fire attacks. You cannot run from this fight.

For the full breakdown of all 33 side quests, see our Final Fantasy Resonance complete sub quests list.

    Optional Bosses — Cave Masters

Cave masters are optional bosses found in named caves scattered across the world map. They scale from level 15 in early chapters to level 60 post-game. Beating them gives rare loot and Ethers. None are required for the story.

    Esper Trial Bosses

    Endgame Bosses

After the credits, a set of powerful post-game bosses unlock. These are the toughest encounters in Final Fantasy Resonance. You’ll want a fully built party with awakened Visions before attempting them. Our Magicite Shards guide for awakening Visions covers how to get there.

For Gilgamesh specifically — the first encounter in Siren’s Tower is not meant to be won. He appears when you open the wrong chest, reads your party’s stats out loud, then steals the Genji Gloves and leaves. You get two proper chances to fight him later. Frequently Asked Questions

How many bosses are in Final Fantasy Resonance?

There are dozens of bosses across all categories. The main story has around 30 boss encounters across Chapters 1–8, with three side quest bosses, 15 cave masters, 6 esper trials, and a roster of endgame bosses including Omega at level 99. The Colosseum adds another 8 boss fights on top of that.

What is the hardest boss in Final Fantasy Resonance?

For post-game content, Omega at level 99 is the hardest — it has a 15,000 stagger gauge and hits with Incineration Sphere and Disaster. Among story bosses, Chaotic Darkness is the most demanding final boss. Dark Fina in Chapter 5 with 100,000 HP also trips up a lot of players.

What is the final boss of Final Fantasy Resonance?

The final story boss is Chaotic Darkness, fought in the Crystal Tower at the end of Chapter 8. It’s level 55, immune to Dark, and changes weakness between forms. Light is the element you need throughout.

Does Final Fantasy Resonance have optional bosses?

Yes — quite a few. Cave masters are hidden in named caves across the world map and range from level 15 to level 60. There are also post-game endgame bosses including Sephiroth, Ultima Weapon, Shinryu, and Omega, plus Colosseum champion fights.

What is the Sanctissimus Shrine boss gauntlet?

Sanctissimus Shrine in Chapter 6 contains six boss fights in a row: Archaeoaevis, Dad Bomb, Test Rider, Yakhanati, Arch Gargoyle x2, and Dragon. There are no rest points between them. Go in fully healed with a diverse elemental party and read the steles in each room — they hint at the boss mechanic ahead.

How do I prepare for boss fights in Final Fantasy Resonance?

Know the weakness before you go in, make sure your Visions cover that element, and use Carbuncle as a defensive summon on hard fights. Check our best character builds guide and best game settings guide for setup tips that make a real difference.

What are Colosseum bosses in Final Fantasy Resonance?

The Colosseum is a post-game arena with a Gladiator League. It features Champion fights and five duels with bosses ranging from level 55 to level 90. Zone Eater, Hidon, Donchu, Death Machine, Gargantuan Gigantuar, Malboro Queen, Holy Dragon, and Beast of Ruin are the Colosseum bosses — serious challenges only for well-built post-game parties.

Can I rematch bosses in Final Fantasy Resonance?

Some bosses return as rematches in later chapters — Ignis, Aether, Alluvion, Tellus, and Umbra all appear again at higher levels in Chapters 7 and 8. Gilgamesh also gets two proper rematches after his first appearance in Siren’s Tower. Post-game bosses in caves and the Colosseum can be fought repeatedly for loot and challenge.
