Vesna Ascension and Talent Materials in Genshin Impact

    TL;DR

    • Vesna needs 420,000 Mora and the full Vayuda Turquoise gem set to ascend to Level 90.
    • Her local specialty is Golden Fern — you need 168 total, found in Snezhnaya’s overworld.
    • Her boss drop is Vagabond’s Cracked Armor (×46), farmed from the Guardian Blade of Drifting Snow.
    • Ethereal enemy drops (Glimmershard, Crystal, Crystalscale Stone) are needed for both ascension and talents.
    • Talent books are Glory series (Teachings, Guide, Philosophies) — available Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from the Relics of the Fallen Grace domain in Snezhnaya.
    • Weekly boss material is Profaned Sprout (×18 for 3 talents), dropped by Il Dottore in Sumeru.
    • 3 Crown of Insight needed to fully max all three talents.
    • Total Mora for everything: approximately 5,377,500.

    Vesna Materials Overview

Vesna Strivozha is a 5-star Anemo Sword character released in Genshin Impact Version 7.1. To push her to her full potential — Level 90 and all three talents maxed — you need to gather materials from the Snezhnaya overworld, domain runs, and weekly boss fights. Most of her materials can be farmed as soon as you have access to Snezhnaya, with the exception of Vagabond’s Cracked Armor, which drops from a new 7.1 world boss.

If you have not already, make sure to check out her Vesna character overview and her Vesna best build guide to understand which talents to prioritize before spending your materials. And since Snezhnaya has many new farming spots, our Golden Fern locations guide will save you a lot of time on her most-needed local specialty.

    Vesna Ascension Materials by Phase

Here is a breakdown of what you need at each individual ascension stage. You earn one Acquaint Fate at the Level 20, Level 50, and Level 70 milestones as a bonus.

    • Phase 1 (Lv. 1 → 20): Unlock ascension — no extra materials needed beyond base character pull
    • Phase 2 (Lv. 20 → 40): Vayuda Turquoise Sliver ×1, Golden Fern ×3, Ethereal Glimmershard ×3 — Mora: 20,000
    • Phase 3 (Lv. 40 → 50): Vayuda Turquoise Fragment ×3, Vagabond’s Cracked Armor ×2, Golden Fern ×10, Ethereal Glimmershard ×15 — Mora: 40,000
    • Phase 4 (Lv. 50 → 60): Vayuda Turquoise Fragment ×6, Vagabond’s Cracked Armor ×4, Golden Fern ×20, Ethereal Crystal ×12 — Mora: 60,000
    • Phase 5 (Lv. 60 → 70): Vayuda Turquoise Chunk ×3, Vagabond’s Cracked Armor ×8, Golden Fern ×30, Ethereal Crystal ×18 — Mora: 80,000
    • Phase 6 (Lv. 70 → 80): Vayuda Turquoise Chunk ×6, Vagabond’s Cracked Armor ×12, Golden Fern ×45, Ethereal Crystalscale Stone ×12 — Mora: 100,000
    • Phase 7 (Lv. 80 → 90): Vayuda Turquoise Gemstone ×6, Vagabond’s Cracked Armor ×20, Golden Fern ×60, Ethereal Crystalscale Stone ×24 — Mora: 120,000

Vesna Full Talent Materials (All 3 Talents to Level 10)

Vesna has three talents to level: her Normal Attack (Vila Blade Dance), Elemental Skill (The Art of Victory), and Elemental Burst (For the Tsaritsa!). Since her Normal Attack contributes very little to her damage, most players choose to leave it at a lower level and focus Mora and materials on her Skill and Burst first. That said, here are the complete totals to max all three to Level 10:

    • Mora: 4,957,500 (for all 3 talents)
    • Teachings of Glory: ×9
    • Guide to Glory: ×63
    • Philosophies of Glory: ×114
    • Ethereal Glimmershard: ×18
    • Ethereal Crystal: ×66
    • Ethereal Crystalscale Stone: ×93
    • Profaned Sprout: ×18
    • Crown of Insight: ×3

For a single talent leveled to 10, you need: 3 Teachings of Glory, 21 Guide to Glory, 38 Philosophies of Glory, 6 Ethereal Glimmershard, 22 Ethereal Crystal, 31 Ethereal Crystalscale Stone, 6 Profaned Sprout, 1 Crown of Insight, and 1,625,500 Mora.

    Vesna Talent Materials by Level

Here is what each individual talent level requires, so you can plan your farming around the materials you have available right now:

    • Level 2: Teachings of Glory ×3, Ethereal Glimmershard ×6 — Mora: 12,500
    • Level 3: Teachings of Glory ×3, Ethereal Glimmershard ×6 — Mora: 17,500
    • Level 4: Guide to Glory ×4, Ethereal Crystal ×3 — Mora: 25,000
    • Level 5: Guide to Glory ×4, Ethereal Crystal ×4 — Mora: 30,000
    • Level 6: Guide to Glory ×6, Ethereal Crystal ×6 — Mora: 37,500
    • Level 7: Philosophies of Glory ×3, Ethereal Crystal ×9, Profaned Sprout ×1 — Mora: 120,000
    • Level 8: Philosophies of Glory ×4, Ethereal Crystalscale Stone ×4, Profaned Sprout ×1 — Mora: 260,000
    • Level 9: Philosophies of Glory ×6, Ethereal Crystalscale Stone ×6, Profaned Sprout ×1 — Mora: 450,000
    • Level 10: Philosophies of Glory ×12, Ethereal Crystalscale Stone ×9, Profaned Sprout ×2, Crown of Insight ×1 — Mora: 700,000

Note that Profaned Sprout is only needed from talent Level 7 onwards. This means you can push all three of Vesna’s talents to Level 6 without needing any weekly boss drops at all — a good short-term goal if you are still saving Resin.

Total Combined Materials (Level 90 + All Talents to Level 10)

If you want a single master shopping list covering both ascension and all three talents, here it is:

    • Mora: ~5,377,500
    • Vayuda Turquoise Sliver: ×1
    • Vayuda Turquoise Fragment: ×9
    • Vayuda Turquoise Chunk: ×9
    • Vayuda Turquoise Gemstone: ×6
    • Vagabond’s Cracked Armor: ×46
    • Golden Fern: ×168
    • Ethereal Glimmershard: ×36 (combined ascension + talent)
    • Ethereal Crystal: ×96 (combined ascension + talent)
    • Ethereal Crystalscale Stone: ×129 (combined ascension + talent)
    • Teachings of Glory: ×9
    • Guide to Glory: ×63
    • Philosophies of Glory: ×114
    • Profaned Sprout: ×18
    • Crown of Insight: ×3

    Where to Farm Vesna’s Materials

Golden Fern — Vesna’s Local Specialty

    golden fern
    golden fern

Golden Fern is Vesna’s Snezhnayan local specialty. You need 168 of them in total — by far the largest single quantity of any material she requires. They grow in large clusters throughout Snezhnaya, particularly in the Rankova Zorya area and around Flamefeather Valley. Because Golden Fern has a real-world respawn timer, it is the material you want to start collecting earliest. See our dedicated Golden Fern locations guide for every spawn point mapped out. While you are doing Snezhnaya overworld farming, it is also worth picking up Flockingweed and Frostfairy Flowers for other Snezhnayan characters you may be building at the same time.

Vagabond’s Cracked Armor — World Boss Drop

All 46 pieces of Vagabond’s Cracked Armor drop from the Guardian Blade of Drifting Snow, a new world boss added to Snezhnaya in Version 7.1. You need 8 Original Resin to claim its drops each time. Since this boss was not in the game before 7.1, it cannot be pre-farmed, so this is the one material you will be collecting entirely after Vesna’s release. Plan to spend a solid chunk of your weekly Resin here in the weeks after you pull her.

Vayuda Turquoise — Anemo Gem Set

Vayuda Turquoise gems drop from Anemo-type world bosses and weekly bosses. The most accessible sources include the Stormterror Dvalin, the Maguu Kenki, and the Anemo Hypostasis. You can also craft higher-tier gems from lower-tier ones using the Alchemy table, so do not throw away any Slivers or Fragments you find from other Anemo character runs.

    Ethereal Drops — Enemy Materials

Ethereal Glimmershard, Ethereal Crystal, and Ethereal Crystalscale Stone all drop from Fae of the Crystalline Flesh enemies found throughout Snezhnaya. Lower-tier drops can be crafted up into higher-tier ones at the Alchemy table, so collecting a surplus of Glimmershards early will help you craft Crystal and Crystalscale Stone later. These same enemies also drop materials used by other Snezhnayan characters, so you will likely accumulate a lot just from exploring the region.

Glory Talent Books — Domain Farming

Teachings of Glory, Guide to Glory, and Philosophies of Glory are the three tiers of Vesna’s talent books. They drop from the Relics of the Fallen Grace domain in Snezhnaya, which opens on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. On off days you can use Stardust Exchange or crafting to convert books between tiers if needed. You need 9 Teachings, 63 Guides, and 114 Philosophies to fully max all three talents, so consistency here matters. Set a weekly reminder to run this domain on its available days.

Profaned Sprout — Weekly Boss Drop

Profaned Sprout is Vesna’s weekly boss talent material, and it is the slowest resource to accumulate since it is capped at one drop per week per boss. It drops from the Exalted Master of the Heretical Path, which is Il Dottore’s weekly boss fight in the Binding Field of Universal Nirvana in Sumeru. You need 18 total for all three talents — that is 18 weeks of weekly boss completions at minimum, assuming you get one per clear. Start farming this boss now and prioritize it before spending discounted weekly resin on other bosses. Talents do not need Profaned Sprout until Level 7, so you have time to build up a stockpile before it becomes urgent.

    Crown of Insight

Crown of Insight is needed to push each talent from Level 9 to Level 10 — one Crown per talent, three total if you want to fully max her. Crowns are obtained through limited-time events, the Sacred Sakura offering system, the Frostbearing Tree, and other regional offering systems. They are not farmable on demand, so save them for your most-used talents. For Vesna, that means her Elemental Skill first, then her Burst.

    Farming Priority Order

With so many materials to gather, it helps to have a clear order of priority:

    • Start immediately: Golden Fern (168 needed, long respawn timer), Glory talent books (time-gated by domain schedule), Profaned Sprout (weekly boss cap), Vayuda Turquoise gems from Anemo bosses
    • After 7.1 launches: Vagabond’s Cracked Armor from the Guardian Blade of Drifting Snow — this is your main Resin priority in the early weeks
    • Ongoing: Ethereal enemy drops (can be crafted up, more flexible), Mora from Ley Line Outcrops when your balance is low

The two most time-limited resources are Golden Fern (due to real-world respawn timers) and Profaned Sprout (due to the weekly boss cap). Focus on these first and let the rest fill in naturally as you play.

    Vesna Ascension Stat

Vesna’s ascension stat is CRIT Rate. She gains a total of 19.2% CRIT Rate at Level 90 from ascension alone. This is a huge bonus that makes reaching a healthy CRIT ratio much easier without over-stacking CRIT Rate substats in your artifacts. Between this and the 4-piece Scarlet Proof set bonus granting another 16% CRIT Rate while active, Vesna naturally reaches very high CRIT Rate with minimal substat investment — leaving your substat budget free for CRIT DMG and ATK%.

Which Talents Should You Level First?

Vesna’s talent priority from most to least important is:

    1. Elemental Skill — The Art of Victory: This is her primary source of Stellar Swirl damage through Windborne Sword and Spirit Blades. Level this first every time.
    2. Elemental Burst — For the Tsaritsa!: Contributes to her rotation damage, helps maintain Disciplinary Action stacks from her Ascension 1 passive, and generates Sword Essence. Level this second.
    3. Normal Attack — Vila Blade Dance: Vesna cannot deal Stellar Swirl damage through Normal Attacks. Her Normal Attack talent adds very little to her overall output. You can leave this at Level 6 or even Level 1 without meaningfully hurting her damage.

A practical day-one goal is to get Vesna to Level 80 or 90 with her Elemental Skill at Level 8–9 and her Burst at Level 6–8. Fully crowning is a long-term project, not a day-one requirement. Refer to her best build guide for full stat targets and team recommendations once she is leveled up.

Materials Shared with Other Snezhnaya Characters

If you are building a full Snezhnaya team alongside Vesna, many materials overlap with her teammates. This makes farming efficient, since a single overworld or domain run often tops up multiple characters at once. Here is where to look:

    • Odette also uses Snezhnayan materials. Check our Odette ascension and talent materials guide for her full list.
    • Alyosha uses different Snezhnayan resources. See our Alyosha ascension and talent materials guide for details.
    • Cryo Traveler has a different material set entirely. Our Cryo Traveler ascension and talent materials guide covers everything you need.

For Snezhnaya exploration, our Snezhnaya Cryoculus locations guide will help you unlock Statues of the Seven for more Stamina, and our Shrine of Depths locations guide covers all the locked chests across the region.

Tips to Speed Up Vesna’s Farming

    • Use the Adventurer’s Handbook or an interactive map to track Golden Fern locations and set collection reminders.
    • Run the Relics of the Fallen Grace talent domain every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday without fail. Consistency here matters more than burst farming.
    • Never skip the Il Dottore weekly boss. Profaned Sprout is the one material that cannot be rushed or crafted — weekly kills are the only source.
    • Craft Vayuda Turquoise gems from lower-tier materials at the Alchemy table rather than only relying on boss drops.
    • Farm the Guardian Blade of Drifting Snow boss early and often — 46 Vagabond’s Cracked Armor takes many Resin-gated clears to complete.
    • Save Crowns of Insight from events and do not use them on characters you rarely play. Vesna’s Elemental Skill is a top-tier candidate for a Crown.
