TL;DR
- Vesna only fits into Stellar Swirl teams — she needs off-field Cryo to function.
- Best team: Vesna + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Vodyanitsa (comfort and damage combined).
- High-ceiling team: Vesna + Odette + Cryo Traveler + C6 Faruzan (no healer, pure damage).
- Budget team: Vesna + Cryo Traveler + Sucrose + Diona (no limited 5-stars needed).
- Odette is her single best teammate — almost every top Vesna team includes her.
- Cryo Traveler is free, powerful, and a near-mandatory pick in every lineup.
- Avoid Pyro or Electro characters — they disrupt Cryo aura and hurt Stellar Swirl uptime.
Why Team Building Matters So Much for Vesna
Vesna is not your typical Anemo character. She does not slot into standard Swirl teams or enable elemental absorption like Kazuha or Venti. She is a dedicated on-field Stellar Swirl DPS, and almost all of her damage depends on consistently triggering that one specific reaction.
Stellar Swirl happens when an Anemo Swirl hits an enemy with Cryo applied to them — and that Cryo needs to come from your off-field teammates while Vesna is on the field attacking. If you build her team incorrectly, the reaction simply does not trigger and her damage collapses. Get it right, and she is an SS-tier carry capable of clearing all endgame content efficiently.
For a deeper look at what drives her damage and how Stellar Swirl works mechanically, see our Stellar Glimmer reaction guide. And to get her fully leveled and ready for these teams, check our Vesna ascension and talent materials guide.
What Every Vesna Team Needs
Before looking at specific teams, understand the two things every Vesna lineup must include:
- At least one off-field Cryo character: This is non-negotiable. Without Cryo application happening in the background while Vesna attacks, Stellar Swirl cannot trigger. Odette and Cryo Traveler are the best options. Diona and Qiqi are accessible budget alternatives.
- A fourth slot for either healing or damage amplification: Vesna takes up nearly all the field time, so your fourth teammate handles sustain or buffing without needing screen time. Vodyanitsa and Faruzan are the top choices here. Sucrose works on a budget.
Elemental compositions outside of Cryo and Anemo generally do not help Vesna. Pyro and Electro characters create unwanted reactions that knock Cryo off enemies, breaking Stellar Swirl uptime. Hydro characters are usually avoided too, with Vodyanitsa being the only real exception thanks to her unique Anemo RES shred and Stellar Swirl buffs.

Team 1: Vesna + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Vodyanitsa (Best Overall)
This is Vesna’s strongest and most comfortable team in Version 7.1. It is rated SS tier across multiple community resources and regularly clears endgame content well above 200,000 DPS in tests. Each member has a clear role and the four together cover every base Vesna needs.
Role Breakdown
- Vesna (Main DPS): Takes almost all the field time. Activates Armed for Action mode, spends Sword Essence on escalating Windborne Sword hits, and triggers Stellar Swirl through her Spirit Blades. Everything else in the team exists to support her window.
- Odette (Cryo Sub-DPS and Buffer): Vesna’s single best teammate. Odette provides consistent off-field Cryo application, a 60% Stellar Swirl damage bonus, and a 14% base damage bonus for Stellar damage through her kit. She also deals solid personal damage from off-field. Almost every top Vesna team includes Odette for good reason. See our Odette best build guide to set her up correctly.
- Cryo Traveler (Cryo Sub-DPS): A free unit who punches far above their weight in Stellar Swirl teams. Cryo Traveler provides additional off-field Cryo application and often accounts for 30–40% of the team’s total damage output. Their Stellar Swirl sub-DPS value is exceptional, and because Traveler can be taken to any constellation level for free, investment here is very worthwhile. For the full picture, read our best Cryo Traveler teams guide.
- Vodyanitsa (Healer and Support): Released alongside Vesna in Version 7.1, Vodyanitsa does an extraordinary amount in a single party slot. She heals the team, provides interruption resistance so Vesna can stay on the field without getting knocked around, shreds enemy Anemo resistance, and adds an additive buff to Stellar Swirl damage directly. She is why this team feels so comfortable to play — Vesna can focus entirely on her damage window without worrying about positioning or sustain.
Team Rotation
- Use Odette’s Elemental Skill twice to set up off-field Cryo and her Stellar damage buff.
- Switch to Cryo Traveler and use their Skill and Burst to layer additional Cryo coverage.
- Swap to Vodyanitsa and use her Skill to apply her RES shred and healing aura.
- Switch to Vesna and immediately cast The Art of Victory to enter Armed for Action mode.
- A Cryo Swirl triggers and converts to Stellar Swirl, activating Radiance: Stellar Swirl for 8 seconds.
- Spend your Sword Essence on Windborne Sword attacks, escalating through all three tiers for Spirit Blade hits.
- Use Vesna’s Burst when available to maintain Disciplinary Action stacks and deal AoE damage.
- Swap out once the Radiance window ends and restart the rotation.
Team 2: Vesna + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Faruzan (Highest Damage Ceiling)
This is Vesna’s highest personal damage team. It trades Vodyanitsa’s healing and comfort for the raw buffing power of C6 Faruzan. The result is a higher damage ceiling than Team 1, but no healer in the roster — meaning you will need to rely on defensive substats, shields from the environment, or just staying mobile to survive.
Role Breakdown
- Vesna: Same on-field DPS role as always. More damage here than in Team 1 because of Faruzan’s stronger ATK and Anemo DMG buffs.
- Odette: Same role as Team 1 — off-field Cryo, 60% Stellar Swirl bonus, sub-DPS damage.
- Cryo Traveler: Same off-field Cryo and sub-DPS role. Even more of the team’s damage goes to Vesna here, making Cryo Traveler’s Cryo coverage more critical to maintain.
- Faruzan (Anemo Buffer): Faruzan is the best Anemo-specific support in the game. She reduces enemy Anemo resistance significantly and provides a flat additive Anemo damage bonus that carries over into Vesna’s Stellar Swirl hits. C6 Faruzan also generates energy for Vesna, which helps her Burst fit into every rotation. Lower constellation Faruzan is still useful, just less impactful. This team is best for players who are comfortable without a healer and want to push their Spiral Abyss scores.
When to Choose This Team
Use this team when you are confident in your survival without a healer, have a well-built C6 Faruzan, or are attempting Spiral Abyss floors where enemy HP is high and you need to maximise Vesna’s damage window. If you are still learning Vesna’s rotation or struggle with certain boss fights, Team 1 with Vodyanitsa is safer and still extremely strong.
Team 3: Vesna + Odette + Vodyanitsa + Qiqi (Comfortable Premium Alt)
This is a variation for players who have Vodyanitsa and Odette but not Cryo Traveler built up. Qiqi replaces Cryo Traveler in the Cryo support role. She provides off-field Cryo application through her Elemental Skill mark and heals the active character on hit, making this lineup very comfortable for extended fights.
The trade-off is that Qiqi deals much less personal damage than Cryo Traveler, so total team DPS is lower than Teams 1 and 2. However, the Stellar Swirl reaction still triggers reliably, and the extra healing makes this a good choice for story content, boss fights, or the early Spiral Abyss floors. Build Qiqi on Favonius Sword with Tenacity of the Millelith to maximize her support value in this slot.
Team 4: Vesna + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Sucrose (Mid-Budget Option)
For players who have Odette but not Vodyanitsa or Faruzan built up, Sucrose is a strong flexible fourth member. She shares Elemental Mastery with the party through her Elemental Burst, which adds value to Stellar Swirl damage. She also applies the Viridescent Venerer artifact set’s 4-piece bonus, reducing enemy Cryo resistance and helping the whole team deal more Stellar Swirl damage.
This team does not have a healer, but it performs well if you have defensive substats on Vesna or can dodge effectively. The ceiling is noticeably lower than Faruzan teams, but the EM sharing from Sucrose is a genuine contribution, especially if Vesna is not yet at her target CRIT stats. This team is rated S+ tier and is very accessible for mid-game players.
Team 5: Vesna + Cryo Traveler + Sucrose + Diona (Best F2P Team)
This is Vesna’s best fully free-to-play team. It does not require any limited 5-star characters beyond Vesna herself and still enables consistent Stellar Swirl gameplay. This lineup is perfect for players who just pulled Vesna and do not yet have Odette or Vodyanitsa.
Role Breakdown
- Vesna: On-field DPS as always.
- Cryo Traveler: Primary off-field Cryo application and sub-DPS. Still one of the best units in this reaction archetype even in a budget team. See our Cryo Traveler best build guide for how to gear him.
- Sucrose (Anemo Buffer): EM sharing and Viridescent Venerer RES shred. Sucrose at C6 gains even more EM sharing capabilities. She covers the Anemo support role cheaply and effectively.
- Diona (Cryo Support and Healer): Diona provides an additional layer of off-field Cryo via her Burst, a shield from her Skill, and healing. At C6, she also grants 200 Elemental Mastery to active characters inside her Burst field — a significant bonus for Stellar Swirl damage. She is the glue that holds this budget team together.
The damage ceiling is lower than premium lineups, but this team clears most Spiral Abyss floors and all story content comfortably. It is a great starting point while you save and farm for stronger supports.
Team 6: Vesna + Qiqi + Cryo Traveler + Faruzan (Accessible with Faruzan)
If you have Faruzan built up but do not yet have Odette or Vodyanitsa, this lineup gives Vesna Faruzan’s powerful Anemo buffs alongside reliable Cryo from both Qiqi and Cryo Traveler. Qiqi covers healing so you are not running naked without sustain.
This team is particularly useful for players who pulled Faruzan for older Wanderer or Xiao teams and already have her constellations unlocked. The combination of two Cryo sources means Stellar Swirl triggers are very consistent, and Faruzan’s resistance shred makes a real difference to Vesna’s personal damage numbers.

Best Teammates for Vesna: Character Synergy Guide
Cryo Characters
Odette is Vesna’s absolute best Cryo partner. Her 60% Stellar Swirl damage bonus and 14% base damage bonus for Stellar hits make her irreplaceable in high-end Vesna teams. She also does strong off-field personal damage. If you are going to pull one support for Vesna, it is Odette. Her build, ascension needs, and role are all covered in our Odette ascension and talent materials guide and Odette best build guide.
Cryo Traveler is a free unit that consistently performs at a high level in Stellar Swirl teams. They often deal 30–40% of the team’s total damage through their off-field Cryo hits, which count as Stellar Swirl damage. Fully ascending and leveling their Elemental Skill and Burst is worth the investment.
Diona is the best budget Cryo support. Shield, healing, off-field Cryo Burst, and a C6 EM buff all in one. She is slightly weak on raw Stellar Swirl damage output compared to Odette or Cryo Traveler, but she compensates with survivability tools that more aggressive teams lack.
Qiqi covers healing and off-field Cryo application. She is softer on damage contribution than other Cryo choices, but she frees up Vodyanitsa’s slot if you want an entirely different fourth teammate.
Anemo Supports
Faruzan is the best dedicated Anemo support in the game and provides the highest damage buff for Vesna among all flex slot options. Her Anemo resistance shred and flat Anemo damage bonus both apply directly to Stellar Swirl hits. C6 is the dream, but lower constellations still add real value.
Sucrose is the budget Anemo option. Her EM sharing benefits Stellar Swirl damage and her Viridescent Venerer shred reduces Cryo resistance across the team. She does not match Faruzan’s personal impact, but she is free to build and performs well in mid-tier lineups.
Hydro Support
Vodyanitsa is the only Hydro character worth considering in Vesna teams. She shreds Anemo, Cryo, and Hydro resistance, provides an additive Stellar Swirl damage buff, heals the team, and grants interruption resistance. Most Hydro characters are avoided because Hydro reactions interfere with Cryo application on enemies, but Vodyanitsa’s kit is designed specifically around enabling Stellar Swirl teams. She is Vesna’s most complete support when you want both damage and sustain in a single slot.
Characters to Avoid
Keep Pyro characters off Vesna’s teams entirely. Pyro on an enemy aura removes Cryo through Melt reactions, breaking Stellar Swirl. Similarly, Electro characters create Superconduct or Electro-Charged on enemies that compete with the Cryo aura Vesna needs. Kazuha and Venti are not great picks either — while both are excellent Anemo supports in general, their buffs do not translate well to Stellar Swirl damage and neither covers Cryo application, which Vesna desperately needs in every slot.
Team Building Tips for Vesna
- Always start with Cryo Traveler in your roster — they are free, powerful, and near-mandatory in every top Vesna team.
- If you only have one limited 5-star support budget between Odette and Vodyanitsa, pull Odette first. She contributes more raw damage than Vodyanitsa.
- Build Diona at C6 if she is your budget sustain option — the 200 EM buff inside her Burst field is a genuinely meaningful damage bonus for Stellar Swirl.
- Make sure your off-field supports have enough Energy Recharge to Burst on every rotation. Cryo Traveler and Odette both want their Bursts up each cycle to maintain Cryo coverage throughout Vesna’s damage window.
- If running Faruzan, aim for enough ER on her to Burst consistently. C6 Faruzan’s energy generation for Vesna is part of what makes that team work so smoothly.
Vesna in the Broader Snezhnaya Meta
Vesna sits at the top of the Stellar Swirl carry tier list in Version 7.1. Her teams are competitive with the best lineups in the current Spiral Abyss meta, and investing in her Snezhnayan teammates pays off across multiple characters simultaneously.
