Base Locations in Palworld 1.0 matter more than ever since the full release changed the map, added two new regions, and overhauled the raid system. Whether you are just starting out or deep into the endgame, picking the right spot for each of your base slots can save you hours of grinding. This guide covers the best locations at every stage, complete with coordinates, resources, and what to watch out for.
TL;DR
- You get 3 base slots by default — unlocking at base levels 1, 10, and 15.
- The best early base is the Ore Plateau at (191, -39) — safe, flat, and resource-rich.
- The best mid-game mining outpost is the 8-Ore Cluster at (270, -230).
- For oil, head to Sakurajima Oil Fields at (-646, 270).
- Endgame players should build in Sunreach at (-518, -1499) for Soralite farming.
- In 1.0, raids are now wave-based — the type of enemy depends on your base’s biome location.
- Defense structures no longer consume ammo in 1.0, so building walls and turrets is worth it.
- Flat land and short Pal pathing routes now matter as much as node proximity.
What Changed About Base Building in Palworld 1.0?
Palworld 1.0 launched on July 10, 2026 and changed several important things for base builders. Here is what you need to know before picking a location:
- Two new regions were added — Sunreach (sky islands) and the World Tree. Both have base-worthy locations and unique resources.
- Seven new smaller islands were added to the main map, opening up more coastal and water-adjacent build spots.
- Aquatic Construction Kit is now available. You can build on open water and along shorelines, which unlocks ocean-based base setups for the first time.
- Resources are more widespread across the map. You no longer need to live on top of a volcano to get sulfur, or freeze in the snow biome just for quartz.
- Raids are now wave-based. Enemies attack in successive waves and the raiding faction changes based on your biome. For example, the Free Pal Alliance attacks at Crescent Moon Shore, while the Eternal Pyre Faction raids Mount Obsidian.
- Defense structures no longer use ammo. You can build a real perimeter and it will just work without maintenance.
- Raid difficulty scales to your Pals. Enemy levels automatically match the level of the Work Pals assigned to that base, so a strong base will face stronger raiders.
- A Negotiator NPC now visits your base before raids begin. You can pay gold to cancel an incoming raid entirely.
These changes shift the focus away from “must be on ore nodes” and toward workability, flat ground, and good Pal pathing. The best 1.0 base is one your Pals can actually move around efficiently.

How Many Bases Can You Have in Palworld 1.0?
By default, you can have 3 bases in Palworld 1.0. They unlock at specific base levels:
- Base 1 – Available from the start.
- Base 2 – Unlocks when your first base reaches Level 10.
- Base 3 – Unlocks when your first base reaches Level 15.
The base level cap is Level 30. You can raise the base cap further through World Settings on private or dedicated servers. The most efficient strategy in 1.0 is to specialize each slot: one comfortable main hub, one mining outpost, and one specialist base for oil, sulfur, or Soralite depending on where you are in the tech tree.
To level your base faster, focus on completing the Palbox Missions listed at your Palbox. Each mission asks you to build specific structures, so base leveling is essentially a guided walkthrough of the tech tree. To fill your base with good workers, check out the guide on how to assign Pals to work in Palworld.
What Makes a Good Base Location in Palworld 1.0?
Before diving into specific spots, here is what to look for:
- Flat ground – Pals get stuck on slopes and uneven terrain. Flat land means faster work speed and fewer pathing issues.
- Nearby resources – Ore, coal, and other nodes inside your base radius save time in the early and mid game.
- Fast travel access – Building near a waypoint makes it quick to get in and out for resupply or managing your Pals.
- Raid defensibility – Some spots are naturally harder for raiders to path to, which reduces the damage your base takes during waves.
- Space to expand – You will add more buildings as you progress. Start with room to grow, not just the minimum footprint.
Best Early Game Base Location in Palworld 1.0
The Ore Plateau – Coordinates (191, -39)
This is the most recommended first base location in Palworld 1.0. The plateau sits near the Sealed Realm of the Guardian teleport point and offers:
- Around 8 Ore nodes within the base radius
- A naturally elevated, flat summit that ground-based raids cannot easily path to
- Easy access to stone, wood, and Paldium nearby
- Enough space for a full early-game base layout
This spot is community-famous for good reason. The terrain naturally handles a lot of your raid defense for you, and the ore supply covers your crafting needs for most of the early and mid game. If you are just starting out and want the least friction possible, build here first.
For tips on surviving the early game, see our best start guide for Palworld 1.0 and our guide on the best starting Pals to staff your first base with.
Alternative Early Starter – Open Plains at (90, -436)
If the plateau feels too remote early on, the open plains around (90, -436) are a solid alternative. This location sits near the early progression route, has plenty of flat ground for basic production, farming, storage, and Pal facilities, and has a nearby Ore node to get you started. It is not as raid-safe as the plateau, but it is easier to reach and well-suited to getting your first base set up quickly.
Best Mid Game Base Locations in Palworld 1.0
Once you unlock your second and third base slots, it is time to specialize. Here are the best mid-game picks.
8-Ore Mining Outpost – Coordinates (270, -230)
This is one of the best dedicated mining bases in the game. You get a dense cluster of ore nodes in a relatively compact area, which is ideal for setting up a self-sustaining ore farm. Assign strong Mining Pals here and leave them to work. The supply of ore and coal from this spot covers your crafting backbone for most of the game.
To get the most from this spot, use Pals with high Mining work suitability. Moldron, for example, has Kindling and Mining both at Level 5, making it one of the most productive base workers you can place here.
Red Forest Base – Coordinates (~245, -390)
If you were drawn to the red forest near the game’s starting area, there is a fantastic flat spot in the center of this biome. Stone and wood are very abundant here, and the large open land gives you room to build freely. Ore is less available than at the plateau, but this location is excellent for a farming and production base that does not need to focus on mining.
Sunlit Isle Crude Oil Starter – Near Sunlit Isle, East of Starting Area
If you want to start farming Crude Oil before reaching the main oil fields, the Sunlit Isle just east of the starting area has six crude oil nodes scattered across it. It is not great for ore or stone, but it is an easy early access point to Crude Oil, which you will need for Polymer and advanced crafting. The island is also reasonably easy to defend during raids.
To understand how to collect and use oil efficiently, check out our guide on the best High Quality Pal Oil farm in Palworld.
Best Late Game Base Locations in Palworld 1.0
Sakurajima Oil Fields – Coordinates (-646, 270)
This is the best dedicated Crude Oil base in the game. The Sakurajima Oil Fields offer:
- Several crude oil nodes in a concentrated area
- A large, flat building space — one of the most spacious base sites in the game
- Ideal placement for Oil Extractors, which require an oil field to function
Crude Oil is essential in the late game for Polymer, which feeds into advanced weapons, equipment, and production. This should be one of your dedicated specialist bases once you hit the late game. The open terrain also makes it one of the easiest spots to build without working around uneven ground.
Astral Mountains Quartz Base – Coordinates (-212, 250)
This location has around 9 Pure Quartz nodes, making it the best dedicated quartz base on the main island. Pure Quartz is needed for Circuit Boards and other high-tech crafting recipes. Bring cold-weather gear before visiting, as this is a cold biome area. Once set up with good Mining Pals, this base practically runs itself.
To make sure you have the right materials for advanced crafting, also check out how to get Corrosive Solvent and Cryogenic Coolant, both of which become important alongside quartz-based production.
Feybreak Water-Ore Outpost – Coordinates (-1322, -1161)
This is a strong specialist outpost on Feybreak Island. It sits in an endgame zone (Level 52+) and gives access to:
- Hexolite Quartz nodes — an endgame ore needed for top-tier crafting
- Additional oil access in the area
- Proximity to the Feybreak region’s fast travel network
An alternative Hexolite Quartz spot on Feybreak is around (-1065, -1430), which has three nodes and lots of trees. Use whichever sits better within your base radius. Hexolite Quartz is a tech-tree bottleneck, so having a dedicated base for it early in the endgame pays off fast.
To progress through the Feybreak area, understanding how to reach Sunreach Island is the next step after clearing this region.
Best Endgame Base Locations in Palworld 1.0
Sunreach Sky Base – Coordinates (-518, -1499)
Sunreach is the new floating sky island region added in 1.0. Building a base here gives you access to:
- Soralite ore — the exclusive endgame material used for the best new weapons and gear in 1.0. It only spawns in Sunreach.
- A base right beside a fast travel point
- Proximity to powerful endgame Pals including the Eidrolon field boss to the northwest
- Unique Sunreach resources and new Pals from the sky island biome
Soralite is only found in Sunreach. You need the Plasma Multicutter tool to harvest it. Reaching Sunreach requires clearing the Feybreak Tower first. Once you are there, the base at (-518, -1499) is one of the strongest endgame outposts you can set up.
For more on navigating this region, see how to remove the Fog of War in Sunreach Island and how to get Soralite and Soralite Ingots.
Sunreach Ore Plateau – Coordinates (583, 144)
This is a broad, open Sunreach platform with late-game ore clusters and enough flat ground for a serious full-production base. It also has a skill-fruit tree and a waterfall nearby for a bit of visual flair. Keep the Palbox toward the open edge of the platform rather than the side facing the Jetragon boss cave below. This is the clearest late-game production pick in the Sunreach region.
To get more from Sunreach Pals and content, check out how to unlock the World Tree once you have the Sunreach area cleared.
River Megabase Hub – Coordinates (-321, -1389)
This is the best all-in-one endgame headquarters location once fast travel across the map is no longer a problem. The location features:
- A river, old ruins, a portal, and natural stepped terraces
- Enough space to build a genuine town-sized base with docks and glass floors over the water
- Full support for quarry-based resource production — meaning you do not need natural nodes inside your radius
This location proves that in 1.0, once you have access to quarry structures, where you build is less about node math and more about picking a place you enjoy logging into. Build your production quarries nearby and use this spot as your actual home base.
How to Split Your 3 Base Slots
Here is the recommended setup for most players in Palworld 1.0:
- Base 1 – Main Hub: The Ore Plateau at (191, -39). Safe, resource-fed, and comfortable for all early and mid-game production.
- Base 2 – Mining/Resource Outpost: The 8-Ore cluster at (270, -230) for ore and coal. Or swap to Astral Mountains quartz or Sakurajima oil depending on your current bottleneck.
- Base 3 – Specialist Base: Rotate between Sakurajima Oil, Feybreak Hexolite, or Sunreach Soralite as your tech tree demands. Once you are in the endgame, the River Megabase Hub makes an excellent permanent headquarters.
To keep all your bases supplied with the right workers, see the guide on how to get Ancient Technology Points and make sure you are unlocking the right tech for each base type.
Base Location Tips for Palworld 1.0
- Build near fast travel points. This makes it quick to restock, manage raids, and swap Pals in and out without long mount trips.
- Prioritize flat ground over perfect node coverage. In 1.0, Pals stuck on slopes lose huge amounts of efficiency. A flat base with slightly fewer nodes will outperform a node-rich base on uneven terrain.
- Set up defense structures early. Since they no longer cost ammo to run, there is no reason not to build walls and turrets at every base from the start.
- Use the Negotiator to cancel raids when you are in the middle of building or upgrading. Pay the gold — it is worth it.
- Specialize your bases. Trying to do everything from one base in the late game slows you down. One hub, one miner, and one specialist is the proven setup.
- Watch your Pal pathing. Place your Palbox and workstations so Pals do not have to travel around obstacles to reach their assigned tasks. Short routes mean faster production.
For even more base efficiency, make sure you are using the right Pals. See our guide on the best combat Pals for defending raids, and check which Pals to prioritize in the best stats to level up first guide.
Also make sure you have the materials to keep your base running smoothly. Check out how to get Fiber, Wooden Boards, and Hardwood to keep your construction queue moving.

FAQ – Base Locations in Palworld 1.0
What is the best base location in Palworld 1.0?
The best all-round base location for most players is the Ore Plateau at (191, -39) near the Sealed Realm of the Guardian fast travel point. It has around 8 ore nodes, naturally flat ground, and a summit that ground-based raid enemies cannot easily path to. For endgame players, the Sunreach base at (-518, -1499) is the strongest option for Soralite farming and access to top-tier endgame content.
How many bases can you have in Palworld 1.0?
You start with 1 base. A second unlocks when your first base reaches Level 10, and a third unlocks at Level 15. The base level cap is 30. You can raise the total base count higher through World Settings on a private or dedicated server.
Where is the best place to get Soralite in Palworld 1.0?
Soralite only spawns in the Sunreach sky island region. The best base spot for farming it is around (-518, -1499) or (583, 144) in Sunreach. You need to clear the Feybreak Tower to access Sunreach, and you need the Plasma Multicutter tool to actually harvest the ore.
Do raid locations matter in Palworld 1.0?
Yes. In 1.0, the type of enemies that raid your base depends on your biome. The Free Pal Alliance attacks in areas like Crescent Moon Shore, while the Eternal Pyre Faction raids Mount Obsidian bases. The difficulty also scales with the level of the Work Pals you assign to that base. Elevated or isolated locations are naturally harder for raiders to reach and can reduce raid damage even without heavy defense structures.
Should I put my main base on top of ore nodes in Palworld 1.0?
Not necessarily. Palworld 1.0 made resources more widespread and added quarry structures that let you produce ore, coal, sulfur, and quartz without needing natural nodes nearby. Flat ground and good Pal pathing now matter just as much as node access. For your main hub, prioritize workability and raid safety. Reserve a second base slot for a dedicated ore or resource outpost parked directly on the nodes you need most.
