TL;DR
- The Monolith Crown is an Abyss Restoration Challenge unlocked after Chapter 5
- You reach it via Crow’s Nest → Crescent Skybridge → Monolith Crown
- The puzzle requires rotating a floating cube so all lasers hit orange buttons on the walls
- The cube controller is on the northwest side — follow the dead electrical lines to find it
- After solving the cube, use a jumping Force Palm on the big cog to complete the repair
- Reward: an Abyss Artifact used for gear and skill progression
The Monolith Crown Abyss puzzle is one of the trickiest challenges in Crimson Desert. It does not involve combat. It is purely a puzzle. And yet, players get stuck on it all the time — usually because they cannot find the cube controller or they keep scrambling the cube by rotating it the wrong way.
This guide gives you the exact location, step-by-step path, cube solution, and what to do when the lasers are all aligned. No fluff.
Available on PC via Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Monolith Crown Abyss Puzzle Requirements
Before you go looking for this puzzle, make sure you meet these conditions:
- You have completed Story Chapter 5: Guest Unbidden
- You have defeated the Crowcaller boss at the end of Chapter 5
- You have the Force Palm skill unlocked — you cannot finish the puzzle without it
- You have the Axiom Force ability to activate Skybridges
If you have not beaten the Crowcaller yet, check out the Crimson Desert Crowcaller Quest Guide first.

How to Get to Monolith Crown
The Monolith Crown is not a place you walk into from the ground. It is part of the sky-based Abyss network. Here is the exact path:
Spire of Soaring → Crescent Skybridge → Monolith Crown
Step 1 — Open the Sky Map
Open your world map and press the Sky Map toggle (Mouse Wheel on PC). Locate the Triangle Ring cluster in the middle of the map.
Step 2 — Travel to Crow’s Nest
Fast travel to Crow’s Nest — this is where you fought the Crowcaller boss at the end of Chapter 5.
Step 3 — Activate the Skybridge
From the Crow’s Nest fast travel point, go forward past the tree and look to the right. You will find a Skybridge there. Use Axiom Force on it (hold TAB on PC / L3 on controller) and rotate it until it glows blue. Enter the teleporter at the end of the path. This takes you straight to Monolith Crown.
Important: The Skybridge at Crow’s Nest must be activated first. If it is locked, you need to complete the Crow’s Nest puzzle before the Skybridge opens. Do not skip this step.

Arriving at Monolith Crown
Once you teleport in:
- Perform 3 midair Force Palms (jump + Mouse Wheel on PC) and glide over the wind turbines to reach the main platform
- Be careful with the first wind turbine — it faces the opposite direction and can knock you off course
- Activate the fast travel / Abyss Nexus point when you land
- Make a manual save right here. If you mess up the cube puzzle, you can reload and start fresh without losing progress
How to Find the Cube Controller
This is where most players waste time. The floating cube in the middle of the area is not controlled from where you are standing when you first arrive.
The controller is on the northwest side of the Monolith Crown area.
To find it fast:
- Look for the dead electrical lines — the ones with no power running through them
- Follow these lines. They lead directly to the controller
- Jump down to the left of where the Abyss Artifact will eventually spawn
- Glide down onto the small floating island on the left side of the last pillar
Once on that island, look up. You will see a glowing ring on the floating cube. Use Axiom Force (hold TAB / L3) on the glowing ring to enter the cube control view.
Monolith Crown Cube Puzzle Solution
Once inside the cube control view, you see a big metallic cube with laser beams on multiple sides. There are orange buttons (blocks) on the walls. Your job is to rotate the cube so that every laser hits one of those orange buttons.
The hard part is that the lasers shift position when you rotate the cube. If you wait too long between moves, the lasers can drift and mess up what you already fixed.
Reset tip: If you scramble the cube, fast travel back to the Monolith Crown Abyss Nexus point. This resets the puzzle to its default position.
PC Solution (Keyboard)
Press W (Up) and then wait for the lasers to settle before each move, except for one specific step noted below:
- W (Up) — wait for lasers to move
- W (Up) — wait for lasers to move
- W (Up) — wait for lasers to move
- A (Left) — wait for lasers to move
- A (Left) — wait for lasers to move
- W (Up) — do NOT wait, move fast immediately to the next step
- W (Up) — puzzle solved
Do not spam W in the last two steps. One press at a time.
Controller Solution (PS5 / Xbox)
The D-Pad direction is relative to your camera, not the cube itself. Rotate your camera as instructed before each D-Pad press.
- Turn camera to the Right → Press D-Pad Right twice
- Turn camera to the Left → Press D-Pad Up once
- Turn camera to the Left again → Press D-Pad Up once
- Turn camera to the Right → Press D-Pad Up once
- Turn camera to the Left → Press D-Pad Up once
- Without rotating the camera → Press D-Pad Left once
All lasers will now hit the orange buttons.
What Happens When All Lasers Are Aligned
When every laser hits its orange button, the game automatically exits the cube control view. You do not need to press anything — it kicks you out on its own.
Now:
- Jump back up to the main platform
- Use a jumping Force Palm on the big cog on the floor
- This activates the Abyss Nexus and completes the repair
You receive an Abyss Artifact as your reward.
What Is the Abyss Artifact Used For?
Abyss Artifacts are key progression items in Crimson Desert. They feed directly into the Abyss Gear system, which lets you unlock new skills and boost core stats like attack and defense. Every Abyss you repair adds one to your total.

What Unlocks After Monolith Crown
Once you complete the Monolith Crown puzzle:
- A Skybridge behind Monolith Crown opens up
- Cross the floating platforms and enter the teleporter — this takes you to Crescent Skybridge
- Head to the east end of Crescent Skybridge and activate the northern skybridge (use a jumping Force Palm to cross the gap)
- This path eventually leads you to Dimensional Bonds, the final Abyss area
This is also the required route during the main quest A Shadow in the Void to pursue Caliburn.
Tips to Avoid Common Mistakes
Cube keeps scrambling? Do not rush. Wait for lasers to fully settle after each rotation, except for step 6 on PC where you need to move fast. Use a manual save at the Abyss Nexus so you can reload quickly.
Can’t activate the Skybridge at Crow’s Nest? You need to complete the Crow’s Nest challenge first. The Skybridge is locked until that puzzle is done.
Solved the cube but the gate did not open? You likely forgot the last step. Use a jumping Force Palm on the large cog on the floor after the cube view exits. That is what officially completes the puzzle.
Force Palm not working? Make sure Force Palm is equipped in your active skill slots. You cannot finish this puzzle without it. See our guide on how to get and use Focused Force Palm.
Puzzle difficulty too high? The cube solution does not change based on game difficulty. The solution above works on all settings.

The Monolith Crown cube puzzle looks intimidating on first contact, but once you know the cube controller location and follow the exact rotation order, it is actually one of the cleaner Abyss puzzles in the game. The biggest enemies here are impatience and camera drift — go slow, wait between moves, and keep that manual save ready.
