Mint Build Guide In NTE (Neverness to Everness)

Best Mint build for NTE — top Arcs, Cartridges, Awakening priority, team comps, skill rotation, and how to get her for free.

TL;DR

  • Mint is a free A-Rank Anima DPS unlocked through main story progression — no gacha needed.
  • She is NTE’s beginner-friendly main DPS with a simple, high-frequency skill rotation and very short cooldowns.
  • Best Arc: Clear Skies for Anima DMG boost. Alternative: Mind Royale for faster Ultimate charging.
  • Best Cartridge: Fireflies and the Forest — Anima DMG + stacking CRIT DMG up to 56%.
  • First Awakening priority: Task Force Operation (A1) — resets Skill cooldown on Critical Riposte.
  • Best team: Mint + Zero + Jiuyuan + Haniel/Adler for Blossom chain reactions.
  • She gets outclassed by top S-Rank DPS in endgame, but she is an excellent carry through the story and mid-game.

Who Is Mint in NTE?

Mint is an A-Rank Anima character in Neverness to Everness and the face of the game. She appears front and center in promotional materials and dominates the first stretch of the main story, acting as Esper Zero’s guide and closest early ally. She is a rising star operative in the Bureau of Anomaly Control’s Containment Strike Unit 2, known internally as CSU-2. First place in the Containment Simulation Exam, in fact — even if she struggles with the written regulation tests.

Personality-wise, Mint is high-energy, cheerful, and a little chaotic. She has a quirky habit of identifying people by their scent rather than their names, and she gives everyone unique nicknames based on what she detects. She knows every cheap eat spot in the city, knows every neighbor by scent, and somehow manages to be both a walking encyclopedia and a certified handful at the same time.

In combat, she wields dual blades infused with wind energy. She is fast, hits often, and has one of the shortest Skill cooldowns in the game. She is one of the easiest characters to play in NTE and one of the best free options available from the start.

Mint Overview

  • Rarity: A-Rank (4-Star)
  • Element: Anima
  • Role: Main DPS
  • Arc Type: Liquid
  • How to Get: Free — unlocked through main story progression
  • Specialty: High-frequency skill rotation, short cooldowns, Blossom reaction support

How to Get Mint in NTE

Mint is completely free. You do not need to spend gacha currency or pull from any banner to get her. She is unlocked automatically as you play through the main story quests. She is the first free character most players receive in the game and she joins your team very early on — within the first 90 minutes of the story.

Getting additional copies of Mint to raise her Awakening level requires landing on her through the Scarborough Fair gacha system, but even at her base A0 copy she is useful. Her A1 Awakening is the most important upgrade, and since she is an A-Rank character, additional copies are far more accessible than S-Rank duplicates.

Mint Playstyle – What Does Mint Do?

Mint is a straightforward on-field main DPS. Her kit is designed to be easy to understand and execute, even for players still learning NTE’s combat system. There are no complicated resource gauges or multi-step mechanics to manage. You stay on field, press her Skill often, and deal consistent Anima damage.

Her biggest strength is her Redirect Skill cooldown of just 6 seconds. This is extremely short compared to most characters. It means you can use her Skill constantly throughout a fight, dealing high-multiplier Anima damage and building Esper Cycle value rapidly without needing to wait. Her hold Basic Attack — the Minty Whirlwind — adds a spinning AoE tornado effect that drains Stamina but chews through grouped enemies very effectively.

Mint also amplifies the Blossom Esper Cycle reaction through her Support Skill. Blossom damage is classified as Anima damage, so it benefits from any Anima DMG buffs on the team. This makes her a natural fit alongside Cosmos characters like Esper Zero, since Zero’s instant Esper Cycle trigger keeps the Blossom chain flowing without gaps.

Her weakness is that she gets outperformed by top S-Rank DPS characters later in the game. She is an A-tier carry — excellent for the story and mid-game content, and a solid F2P staple throughout, but not a long-term endgame main DPS once you have access to characters like Nanally or Jiuyuan.

Mint Skills in NTE

Basic Attack – Perfect Containment

Mint performs up to 5 consecutive Anima DMG hits with her dual blades. In the air, she can plunge to deal 1 instance of AoE Anima DMG, scaling with fall height up to 100% bonus. A follow-up counter — triggered by Perfect Containment after a Critical Dodge — makes her leap up, seize the enemy’s opening, and swing for 1 instance of Anima DMG while reducing Break. The hold variant of the Basic Attack activates Minty Whirlwind, spinning continuously and draining Stamina while dealing constant Anima DMG to all nearby enemies.

Redirect Skill – Ultimate: Super Claws

Mint’s most important ability and the centerpiece of her rotation. She dashes forward and then snaps back to her original position, dealing 2 instances of AoE Anima DMG along the full path. The cooldown is only 6 seconds, making this by far the most frequently used tool in her kit. Her full skill name is officially “Mint’s Ultimate: Super Claws” — she had to shorten it because nobody could stop laughing at the original full version: “Mint’s Ultimate: Super Duper Ultra 360 Whirlwind Slash.”

Ultimate – Nya-choo!

Mint channels the surrounding wind into her dual blades and transforms them into wind blades, dealing multiple instances of Anima DMG to a wide area. The final hit lands as a massive Anima DMG slam. This is her big burst window. Use it against grouped enemies or whenever Esper Cycle reactions are ready to detonate. Her Support Skill expands Vita Pistils’ AoE on hit, making Blossom volleys cover a wider area when combined with Nanally.

Support Skill – Transform! Super Mint!

Mint’s Support Skill triggers the Blossom Enhancement, expanding the damage area of Vita Pistils on impact. This ties directly into the Blossom Esper Cycle reaction — when paired with Esper Zero or another Cosmos character who keeps triggering Blossom, the expanded AoE turns each reaction volley into a room-clearing event.

Passive 1 – Bingo! We’re Done Here!

While Mint is on field, her DEF increases by 20% and her resistance to interruptions increases by 30%. This passive makes her much more stable during her long on-field time, preventing enemies from knocking her out of her animations mid-rotation.

Passive 2 – Caramel Crisp

Charges and leaps into the air, performing a penetrating attack that deals 1 instance of Anima DMG to an area. This passive attack activates as part of Mint’s combat flow and links into her Task Force Operation Awakening, which resets Skill cooldown when Caramel Crisp hits an enemy.

Best Arcs (Weapons) for Mint in NTE

Mint uses Liquid-type Arcs only. You cannot equip Solid, Gas, Bose, or Plasma Arcs on her — make sure you are checking the Arc type before equipping.

Best Arc – Clear Skies

Clear Skies is Mint’s top Arc. It directly boosts the Anima DMG dealt by her Redirect Skill and Ultimate — the two buttons she uses most. Since Mint uses her Skill every 6 seconds and charges her Ultimate quickly through frequent attacks, the Anima DMG boost stays active almost constantly throughout any fight. This is the Arc you want on Mint in most situations.

Second Best – Mind Royale

Mind Royale grants 10 to 18 Ultimate Energy each time Mint uses her Redirect Skill, triggering up to once every 20 seconds. Since Mint presses Skill every 6 seconds, she hits this trigger consistently and keeps Nya-choo! charged much faster than normal. This is especially useful in boss fights where you want to repeat the Ultimate as often as possible. The trade-off is that it does not add raw Anima damage like Clear Skies does, so it depends on whether you need more damage or more Ultimate frequency.

Third Option – Fluff of Fleetness

Fluff of Fleetness stacks ATK by 5% every second Mint is the active character, up to 5 stacks — a total of 25% ATK at max. Since Mint stays on field for long stretches as main DPS, she reaches max stacks in 5 seconds and maintains them through the rotation. The stacks reset on character swap, so this Arc rewards sustained on-field time. It is a solid third option and particularly good at higher refinement levels.

Alternative – Shiny Days

Shiny Days improves Mint’s Break Intensity and increases her damage against Broken enemies. It is situationally useful against enemies that break easily, but it is a lower priority than the Anima DMG or energy-focused options above for general content.

Best Cartridge for Mint in NTE

Best – Fireflies and the Forest

Fireflies and the Forest is Mint’s best-in-slot Cartridge and it is not close. The 2-piece bonus gives Anima DMG +10%. The 4-piece bonus stacks CRIT DMG by 8% every time a nearby enemy takes Anima DMG from the team, up to 7 stacks — a total of 56% CRIT DMG. Since Mint hits frequently with her basic attacks and Skill, she reaches max stacks almost instantly at the start of combat and maintains them throughout the fight. The payoff of 56% CRIT DMG is massive for a character who crits often.

Alternative – Shadow Creed

Shadow Creed is a good secondary option. Its 4-piece grants 25% ATK for 20 seconds after casting a Skill. With Mint’s 6-second Skill cooldown, she reapplies this buff every few seconds, keeping the ATK window near-permanent. It is a simpler alternative if you do not have the right Module shapes to activate Fireflies and the Forest’s 4-piece yet.

Best Modules for Mint in NTE

When building Mint’s console grid, prioritize activating Fireflies and the Forest’s 4-piece set bonus first, then fill remaining slots with Modules that have these substats:

  • CRIT DMG — Mint’s primary damage multiplier, amplified further by the Fireflies set
  • CRIT Rate — aim for a comfortable CRIT Rate before stacking CRIT DMG
  • Anima DMG Bonus — direct damage increase for all of Mint’s Anima abilities
  • ATK% — general damage increase across the whole kit

Best Awakening Priority for Mint in NTE

Unlike S-Rank characters, Mint is an A-Rank so her duplicate copies are much easier to collect through the Scarborough Fair gacha system. You will likely get all six Awakenings over time without heavy investment. That said, the order matters for early power spikes:

  • Task Force Operation (A1) — First Priority: Resets the cooldown of Super Claws when Caramel Crisp hits an enemy. Triggers once every 3 seconds. This is Mint’s most impactful Awakening by a wide margin. It means her Skill cooldown effectively resets during combat, letting her fire off Super Claws far more often than the base 6-second cooldown suggests. Get this first.
  • First Instinct (A5) — Second Priority: After casting Super Claws, Mint’s CRIT DMG increases by 25% for 6 seconds. Since she uses the Skill constantly, this window is almost always active. A large damage boost once A1 is in place.
  • Attendance Bonus (A3) — Third Priority: When any character triggers Blossom or Hexed against an enemy, Mint gains 15% ATK for 15 seconds. Since Blossom reactions fire frequently in her best teams, this ATK buff stays nearly permanent in practice.
  • Re-examination (A2): Increases Super Claws damage by 40%. Good flat damage boost for her main Skill.
  • Elite Member (A6): Mint deals 15% increased damage to targets below 40% HP — useful for finishing enemies but low priority compared to the earlier Awakenings.
  • Lunch Break (A4) — Lowest Priority: Increases Mint’s CRIT Rate by 12% when dealing damage to the last enemy on the field. Situational and only applies in single-target cleanup scenarios.

Skill Upgrade Priority for Mint in NTE

Upgrade Mint’s abilities in this order: Redirect Skill (Super Claws) → Ultimate (Nya-choo!) → Support Skill → Basic Attacks → Passives.

Super Claws is her main damage button and the first upgrade target. The Ultimate follows since it is her burst window. Support Skill and Basics come after. Passives are lowest priority as they provide conditional bonuses rather than raw damage scaling.

How to Play Mint – Rotation Guide

Mint’s rotation is simple and beginner-friendly. Here is the standard pattern:

  • Open with Super Claws the moment you swap in — this triggers the Task Force Operation reset window immediately if A1 is active.
  • Press Basic Attack to keep hitting between Skill uses. If enemies are grouped, use the hold Basic Attack for Minty Whirlwind AoE.
  • Press Super Claws every time it comes off cooldown. With A1, Caramel Crisp procs will reset the cooldown mid-rotation, letting you fire it more often than once every 6 seconds.
  • Use Nya-choo! whenever it is charged for a damage burst, especially when Esper Cycle reactions are active from your teammates.
  • Critical Dodge when possible — the Perfect Containment counter after a Critical Dodge adds an extra Anima hit and reduces Break.

Stay on field as long as possible. Fluff of Fleetness users especially want to hit 5 seconds of on-field time before swapping. Mint is not a quick-swap sub-DPS — she is an on-field main carry. Give her the field time she needs to stack her buffs and keep Super Claws cycling.

Best Team Compositions for Mint in NTE

Best F2P Team – Mint + Zero + Haniel + Adler

This is the strongest all-free team for Mint and works well from early game all the way through Abyss content. Mint is the main DPS. Zero supplies Cosmos and triggers Blossom reactions instantly with every Skill press. Haniel provides off-field ATK boosts and Blossom damage amplification. Adler brings shielding and Incantation DoT, which helps trigger the Hexed reaction for extra damage. Every character in this lineup is obtained for free through the main story or events — no gacha spending required.

Strong Mid-Game Team – Mint + Zero + Jiuyuan + Haniel

If you pull Jiuyuan from the gacha, he is a significant upgrade to Mint’s supporting cast. Jiuyuan deals consistent Anima damage from off-field, stacks Vita Buds, and reduces enemy Anima resistance. Combined with Zero’s instant Blossom trigger, this team keeps Anima reactions running constantly with Mint on field doing the heavy lifting. Haniel continues to provide ATK buffs and off-field Blossom support.

Premium Team – Mint + Zero + Nanally + Hathor

If you have Nanally and Hathor, this is a significant power jump. Mint’s expanded Vita Pistil AoE from her Support Skill pairs directly with Nanally’s 10-Pistil Blossom — together every Blossom volley becomes a wide-area damage event. Hathor adds Lakshana for the full Cosmos + Anima + Lakshana triple-cycle, enabling the Charge reaction on every rotation. Zero keeps the Esper Cycle instant as always. This team is one of the strongest Mint can run at launch.

Budget Alternative – Mint + Zero + Edgar + Adler

A purely free-to-play setup that covers all three reaction types needed. Edgar provides healing and Cosmos damage for off-field stability. Adler shields and adds Incantation for Hexed. Zero handles the Blossom trigger. Mint deals the damage. This team has no weaknesses in survival, works in story and daily content without any investment, and lets you experience Mint’s full rotation without pulling for any additional characters.

Is Mint Worth Building in NTE?

Yes — especially early on and for F2P players. Mint is the easiest main DPS to build in NTE at launch. She is free, her Arc options are accessible, her Cartridge Fireflies and the Forest stacks up fast thanks to her high attack frequency, and her Task Force Operation A1 Awakening — her most critical upgrade — comes early through the Scarborough Fair system.

Her ceiling is below the top S-Rank DPS characters like Nanally and Jiuyuan. That is the honest trade-off. But as a carry who requires no spending, covers the Anima side of the reaction wheel, and can clear every story and mid-game challenge without issue, she is absolutely worth investing in early. Max her A1 first, give her Clear Skies and Fireflies, and she will perform well beyond what her A-Rank label might suggest.

Final Thoughts

Mint is one of the best starter characters in NTE and a genuine F2P powerhouse through the early and mid-game. Her kit is simple, her cooldowns are fast, her Blossom synergy with Esper Zero is natural and clean, and she is free for every player from day one. Get her A1 Awakening as soon as possible, equip Clear Skies and Fireflies and the Forest, and she will carry your team through everything NTE throws at you before the S-Rank characters start pulling ahead. For new players especially, Mint is the easiest path to a working DPS team with no spending required.
