Mortal Shell 2 Trophy & Achievement Guide — All 53 Trophies Explained

    By Lilly Daniels · August 22, 2026 · 12 min read
Mortal Shell 2 Trophy Achievement Guide

    TL;DR

    • Mortal Shell 2 has 53 trophies on PlayStation (1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 10 Silver, 41 Bronze) and 52 achievements on Xbox and Steam.
    • Most trophies come naturally from playing — unlocking weapons, Shells, sidearms, and defeating bosses.
    • There are 3 missable trophies: Mid Summer?, No, You Still Can’t Win, and Peter’s Perfect Parry.
    • Equipping the Slayer Seal disables all trophy and achievement tracking. Unequip it to re-enable them.
    • The Platinum requires at least NG++ because of the Glimpse-gated Seeking the Past achievement.
    • Estimated time to Platinum: 50+ hours across multiple playthroughs.
    • Do not skip the Temple of Vatra Tarstone — it becomes permanently locked after leaving the area.

Mortal Shell 2 has one of the bigger trophy lists in the soulslike genre, but most of it is unlocked by simply playing the game well. Unlock every Shell, every weapon, defeat the main bosses, clear the collectibles, and handle a few specific side interactions — that is most of the list right there. Before diving in, make sure you have checked our Mortal Shell 2 beginner’s guide and know how to get around the map efficiently with our beacon locations guide, because exploration covers a huge part of the trophy list.

You can play Mortal Shell 2 on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, or check the official Mortal Shell site for more details.

    • Gold: 1
    • Silver: 10
    • Bronze: 41
    • Secret trophies: 15
    • Xbox / Steam achievements: 52

    • Playthroughs required: Minimum 3 (NG, NG+, NG++)
    • Estimated Platinum time: 50+ hours
    • Difficulty: 7/10

Platinum Roadmap — The Recommended Order

Here is the smartest order to tackle the Platinum without locking yourself out of anything:

Step 1 — Handle the Tutorial Missables First

The very first thing you should do when starting a new run is grab the two missable tutorial trophies. Both Mid Summer? and No, You Still Can’t Win are tied to the opening section of the game. If you miss them here, they do not come back in NG+. Get them done before you leave the tutorial area.

Step 2 — Clear the Main Story and All Six Corrupted Gates

Work through the game normally. Defeat bosses through all six Corrupted Gates — you can do them in any order once fast travel opens up. You need at least five of the six main bosses cleared to access the final area. Check our full boss list for Mortal Shell 2 to make sure you are not missing anyone.

Step 3 — Collect Everything Before the End of Your First Run

After clearing the main bosses, use your free-roam window before starting NG+ to clean up collectibles. Here is what to focus on:

    • All 8 Weapons — Each weapon has its own Bronze trophy. Getting them all gives the Silver Lord of War.
    • All 8 Sidearms — Same pattern. Full set gives Guns, Lots of Guns.
    • All 8 Shells — Each Shell gives a Bronze, and finding them all gives Shell Seeker. See our guide on finding your first Shell to start the process early. For weapons and sidearms, our all weapon and sidearm locations guide covers every pickup spot.
    • All Tarstones — Gives the Silver Stoned. Do NOT miss the Temple of Vatra Tarstone — that area locks permanently after your first visit and does not reset in NG+. Our Tarstone guide will help you track them down.
    • All Map Fragments — Gives Sat Nav. Pick up fragments from Ruk as you explore. Our guide on getting a map in Mortal Shell 2 explains how this system works.
    • All Beacons — Gives Beckon Me.
    • All Ova — Gives Bring My Ova Back to Me.
    • All Lute Tracks — Gives Heavy Metal. Listen to every lute track found in the world.

Step 4 — Handle the Optional and Missable Trophies

Before ending your first run, clean up these side trophies:

    • Bag Holder — Get the Baghead secret ending. Visit Baghead at the cliff near Gloomshade Grove. Do not pick up any nearby items. Come to him with nothing in your inventory and agree when prompted. This makes you the new Baghead. Easy to miss if you rush the ending.
    • Ascension — This is tied to the Mango secret. Get Mether’s Flesh from a hidden area near the Pulsing Caves Beacon in the Sanguine Caverns. Then offer it to a giant fish found east of the Outskirts of Nochte Beacon. This is one of the more obscure trophies in the list.
    • Feed Me — Feed Gloom to the NPC Egon. There is a limit to how much he wants. Visit him and keep feeding him until the trophy pops. Our Gloom farming guide helps you build up the supply you need.
    • Peter’s Perfect Parry — This is the hardest trophy in the game. See the full breakdown in the Missable Trophies section below.
    • Decked Out — Reach maximum Bond Tier with at least one Shell through the Shellkeeper. Make sure you do this for Sester Genessa specifically in your first run, due to the NG+ bug covered below.
    • Over 9000 — Fully upgrade any weapon to +16 at the Tarforge. See our Tarforge guide for the upgrade process.

Step 5 — Enter NG+ and NG++ for Shell Memories

The Seeking the Past trophy requires you to watch all 40 Shell Memories. You cannot get enough Glimpses to unlock all of them in a single run. You will need to go into at least NG+ and likely NG++ to collect enough Glimpses to finish the job. This is the final trophy most players unlock before the Platinum. Read our Mortal Shell 2 New Game Plus guide before you start to make sure you are fully prepared for the transition.

All Missable Trophies in Mortal Shell 2

There are 3 missable trophies. Miss them in your current run and you will need to wait for NG+ — or in one case, you cannot get them again at all.

Mid Summer? (Bronze) — Tutorial Missable

This trophy is tied to the opening section of the game. Exactly what triggers it is part of the secret, but it must be done before you leave the tutorial area. Check the surroundings carefully and interact with everything you see before moving on. This cannot be revisited in NG+, so get it in the tutorial on your very first run.

No, You Still Can’t Win (Bronze) — Tutorial Missable

This one requires you to defeat the Tar Golem at the start of the game. The catch: if you get knocked out of your Shell during this fight, the game automatically pushes you forward and you lose the trophy — even in NG+. If that happens, jump off the edge of the arena before you get severed. You will die from the fall but respawn before the fight, giving you another shot. This is permanently locked if you fail it AND miss it in the tutorial — making it the most important of the three missables.

Peter’s Perfect Parry (Bronze) — Boss Challenge

This is the only skill-based trophy in the entire list. You must Perfect Guard every single one of The Nameless Captive’s headspin attacks during that boss fight, and you must do it using the Untarnished Seal specifically. You cannot use the Slayer Seal (which also disables trophies). Not a single guard can drop. Practice your parry timing before this fight. See our guide on how to parry in Mortal Shell 2 and our Nameless Captive boss guide to prepare. You can attempt this in NG+ if you miss it — unlike the tutorial trophies, the boss resets.

    Important Known Bugs Affecting Trophies

Temple of Vatra Tarstone — Permanently Missable

There is a Tarstone inside the Temple of Vatra area in the north part of the map. Once you leave the area for the first time, the gates lock and the game does not reset them in NG+. That Tarstone is gone forever if you forget it. Getting all Tarstones is required for the Stoned Silver trophy, which is required for the Platinum. Do not leave this area without collecting it.

Sester Genessa Bond Bug in NG+

In the current version of the game, Sester Genessa stops working correctly in NG+. She gets stuck trying to complete the parry tutorial, which blocks her Bond Tier from progressing further. The fix is simple: max out her Bond Tier fully in your first playthrough before entering NG+. Do not leave it for later. See our best Shells guide for tips on which Shells to prioritise first.

All Trophy Categories and How to Unlock Them

    Platinum Trophy

    • No Lifer (Platinum) — Unlock every other trophy in Mortal Shell 2. This pops automatically once all 52 other trophies are collected.

    Gold Trophy

    • This is Not an Achievement (Gold) — Complete Mortal Shell 2. Finish the main campaign by sending the Ova through the Gloom Siphon after defeating the final boss. Just play through the story.

    Silver Trophies

    • Lord of War (Silver) — Unlock all 8 primary weapons. They are scattered across Fainweald and the Ruins of Mammon. See our all weapon locations guide to track them down. Good starting options are covered in our best weapons for beginners guide. One quick example: our Axe and Dagger guide covers the starting weapon.
    • Guns, Lots of Guns (Silver) — Unlock all 8 sidearms. Same exploration process as weapons. Check our best sidearms for beginners to know which ones to prioritise. All locations are covered in our weapon and sidearm locations guide.
    • Shell Seeker (Silver) — Unlock all 8 Shells. Some come from story progression, others from exploration and NPC quests. Start here: first Shell location guide.
    • Stoned (Silver) — Find all Tarstones. Watch out for the Temple of Vatra one — see the bug section above.
    • Bring My Ova Back to Me (Silver) — Collect every Ova in the game. Ova are the main collectibles tied to the story. Gather them as you explore each region.
    • Sat Nav (Silver) — Find every Map Fragment. Ruk hands most of these over as you explore.
    • Beckon Me (Silver) — Activate all Beacons across both regions.
    • Seeking the Past (Silver) — Watch all 40 Shell Memories. Requires NG++ due to the Glimpse cap. This is the last trophy most players earn before the Platinum.
    • Decked Out (Silver) — Reach maximum Bond Tier with at least one Shell at the Shellkeeper. Do Sester Genessa in your first run.
    • Over 9000 (Silver) — Fully upgrade any weapon to its maximum level at the Tarforge.
    • Heavy Metal (Silver) — Listen to every Lute Track in the game. These are scattered around the world. Interact with every lute you find.

    Notable Bronze Trophies

There are 41 Bronze trophies in total. Most of them unlock automatically as you play. Here are the most important ones to know about:

    • Weapon-specific Bronzes (x13) — Each individual weapon and sidearm you collect gives its own Bronze trophy. Just find them all as you explore.
    • Shell-specific Bronzes (x8) — One Bronze per Shell you unlock. Find all 8 across the map.
    • Boss-specific Bronzes — Defeating each major boss gives a Bronze. These come naturally from the main story. Our individual boss guides cover each fight: Zmey the Uninvited, Sester Secundus, Prophet of Profane Infinities, Malborn Offspring, Isaac the Scholar Prince, Hexapod, Droeg the Conqueror, Magdalena the Lady of the Woods, The Lost Child, and The Nameless Captive.
    • Mid Summer? (Bronze) — Missable tutorial trophy. See the missables section above.
    • No, You Still Can’t Win (Bronze) — Defeat the Tar Golem in the tutorial without being separated from your Shell. Missable and cannot be retried in NG+.
    • Peter’s Perfect Parry (Bronze) — Perfect Guard every headspin attack from The Nameless Captive using the Untarnished Seal.
    • Bag Holder (Bronze) — Unlock the Baghead secret ending by going to him with nothing in your inventory.
    • Ascension (Bronze) — Find Mether’s Flesh and offer it to the giant fish east of the Outskirts of Nochte Beacon.
    • Feed Me (Bronze) — Feed Gloom to the NPC Egon until the trophy pops.

    Trophy Tips and Important Notes

    • The Slayer Seal disables trophies. If you equip it, all achievement and trophy tracking stops on that save file — until you unequip it. Unequipping restores tracking. Just make sure it is off when you are working on specific trophies.
    • Night Mode does not affect trophy availability. You can run Night Mode without worrying about locking yourself out of anything.
    • No online trophies. Everything is single-player. You can go at your own pace.
    • No difficulty-locked trophies. The game has no traditional difficulty setting, and no trophy requires completing the game on a specific challenge level.
    • Weapons and Shells carry into NG+. You do not need to re-collect anything. See our New Game Plus guide for the full breakdown on what resets.
    • Permanent items stay with you. Our permanent items guide lists what you never have to worry about losing across playthroughs.
    • Clear corruption before going into NG+. Check our guide on cleansing corruption if you are still working through that system.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How many trophies are in Mortal Shell 2?

There are 53 trophies on PlayStation 5 — 1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 10 Silver, and 41 Bronze. Xbox and Steam have 52 achievements. Fifteen trophies are hidden, most tied to boss fights and specific side interactions.

Are there missable trophies in Mortal Shell 2?

Yes, there are 3 missable trophies. Mid Summer? and No, You Still Can’t Win are both tied to the tutorial section and cannot be revisited in NG+. Peter’s Perfect Parry requires Perfect Guarding every headspin from The Nameless Captive using the Untarnished Seal. That one can be retried in NG+, but the tutorial two are permanently missable if skipped.

How many playthroughs does the Mortal Shell 2 Platinum require?

You need at least three playthroughs — the base game, NG+, and NG++. The Seeking the Past trophy requires all 40 Shell Memories, which needs more Glimpses than a single run provides. Most players earn the Platinum somewhere around their third cycle.

Does the Slayer Seal lock you out of trophies in Mortal Shell 2?

Yes. Equipping the Slayer Seal disables trophy and achievement tracking on your save file. It does not permanently lock you out — unequipping the Seal restores tracking. If you want to use it for difficult sections and still chase the Platinum, just make sure you remove it before working on specific trophies.
