  • You need Force Palm, Focused Force Palm, and Stab unlocked to collect all pieces
  • The set is T5 tier — one of the strongest plate armor sets in the game

The Golden Greed Plate Armor set is one of the most visually striking sets in Crimson Desert. Kliff is draped head to toe in gold-adorned plate with a red-plumed helmet. It looks like something worn by a conquering general — and the stats are just as impressive. Strong defense, solid attack on two pieces, Daze Immunity on the helm, and Fire Resistance Lv.3 on the cloak. Every piece is hidden behind an environmental puzzle or secret passage in the Crimson Desert and Tashkalp regions.

This guide covers all five locations with step-by-step instructions and the abilities you need to reach each chest. For everything else in the game, head to our Crimson Desert guide hub.

Golden Greed Armor Set Overview

The Golden Greed set is a five-piece T5 plate armor collection. Unlike the Blackwing set, which focuses on mobility and lightning resistance, the Golden Greed set leans into raw defense, attack power on the gloves and boots, and useful immunities. It sits at the top of the armor tier list alongside sets like the Dark Marksman and Frostcursed.

Every piece is found inside a hidden treasure chest. None of them drop from enemies or bosses. Three require the Stab ability to pass through waterfalls. Two require Force Palm or Focused Force Palm to break through walls or barriers. Make sure these abilities are unlocked before you head out.

The Gloves and Boots are the two attack-carrying pieces, making them especially valuable for melee builds. The Chest is the most stat-dense piece overall — DEF 14 combined with health regen and swim speed in one slot is excellent value. See our guide on how to increase defense level and how to increase attack level to push this set further.

Piece 1 – Golden Greed Plate Helm

Location: Sanctum of Renunciation, Tashkalp — southeast of the Crimson Desert

Required Ability: None

This is the easiest piece to grab. No special skill is needed — just light two lanterns.

Head to the Sanctum of Renunciation in the Tashkalp region. Once inside, move toward the southwest corner of the building and look for a flight of stairs. Right next to the stairs you will find two unlit lanterns on the wall. Interact with both to light them one at a time. A hidden wall will slide open next to the lanterns, revealing a room behind it. Inside the room is a Treasure Chest. Open it to collect the Golden Greed Plate Helm.

The Helm comes with DEF 7, Daze Immunity, and a Defense +3 Abyss Gear slot — a solid headpiece that keeps you from being stunned mid-fight.

Check our Sanctum of Renunciation puzzle guide if you need help navigating the building while you are there.

Piece 2 – Golden Greed Plate Armor (Chest)

Location: Bursada Castle Ruins, Tashkalp — southeast of the Crimson Desert

Required Ability: Force Palm (R3)

The chest piece is hidden behind a breakable wall inside Bursada Castle Ruins. Head to the ruins in the Tashkalp region. Find the large door or entryway near the base of the castle, just before the stairs that lead upward. Pass through that door heading north into the interior. Once inside, turn left and follow the long corridor all the way to its end. You will see a stone wall at the dead end. Use Force Palm (R3) to punch through it. A hidden room opens up on the other side. The Treasure Chest inside contains the Golden Greed Plate Armor.

This is the standout piece of the entire set. DEF 14 is the highest in the set, and its three Abyss Gear slots give you Movement Speed Lv.1, passive Health regeneration at 0.2 per second, and Swim Speed +2%. The health regen alone is worth the effort to come and get this early.

Piece 3 – Golden Greed Plate Cloak

Location: Venomblade Grotto, Red River — southeast of the Crimson Desert

Required Ability: Stab (R1 + Triangle / equivalent)

Follow the Red River upstream heading north until you reach a waterfall at the Venomblade Grotto. You are looking for a waterfall near an iron ore deposit in this area. Face the waterfall directly and use Stab to dash through the falling water. Kliff will pass through the surface and land inside a hidden alcove behind the waterfall. Open the Treasure Chest inside to collect the Golden Greed Plate Cloak.

The Cloak has the lowest raw defense of the set at DEF 4, but it carries Fire Resistance Lv.3 — the highest fire resistance tier available on a cloak. If you are fighting in fire-heavy zones or against bosses that deal fire damage, this cloak will make a real difference. See our ice resistance and frost protection guide for similar tips on stacking elemental resistances.

Piece 4 – Golden Greed Plate Gloves

Location: Gale of Judgement Cave, Denn River — south of the Crimson Desert, east of Drywind Valley

Required Ability: Stab (R1 + Triangle / equivalent)

Head to the Denn River in the southern region of the Crimson Desert. Find the wooden bridge east of Drywind Valley. Near the bridge is a waterfall. You do not enter the waterfall from the top. Instead, look for a narrow ledge or platform partway down the edge of the waterfall — roughly at the midpoint. Drop down carefully to land on this platform. Once you are on it, face the waterfall and use Stab to push through the water into the cave entrance behind it.

Inside the Gale of Judgement Cave, open the Treasure Chest to collect the Golden Greed Plate Gloves. Be careful with your positioning when dropping to that midway ledge. If you fall past it, climb back up and try again.

The Gloves carry ATK 20 and DEF 5, with two Abyss Gear slots both providing Defense +3 — great for players who want to balance offense and survivability in the same slot.

Piece 5 – Golden Greed Plate Boots

Location: Arehaza Cave, Red River — south of the Crimson Desert

Required Ability: Focused Force Palm (L3 + R3, then Hold R3)

This is the trickiest piece to get because it requires the Focused Force Palm ability, which works differently from a regular Force Palm.

Head to the bottom of the Red River area and travel east into the cave entrance. Once inside, look to your left. You will find a blocked path with a barrier that cannot be broken with a regular Force Palm. To break it, you need to use the Focus mechanic. Press L3 and R3 at the same time to activate Focus mode. While in Focus, hold R3 to charge up the Focused Force Palm. Watch carefully — a glowing gold orb will appear on the barrier in front of you. The moment you see the orb, release the buttons to fire the charged blast and shatter the barrier.

Head through the now-open passage and open the Treasure Chest inside to claim the Golden Greed Plate Boots. These boots carry ATK 19 and DEF 7, plus Stamina Regen +2% and Movement Speed Lv.1 through their Abyss Gear slots. Running the boots with the chest piece means you have both health regen and stamina regen covered without needing to slot those stats manually.

Tips for Collecting the Full Set Efficiently

Unlock abilities first. Before you head out, make sure you have Stab, Force Palm, and Focused Force Palm all unlocked. Missing any one of them will block you from collecting at least one piece.

Do the Tashkalp pieces together. The Helm (Sanctum of Renunciation) and Chest (Bursada Castle Ruins) are both in the Tashkalp region. Grab them in the same trip to save travel time.

Do the Red River pieces together. The Cloak (Venomblade Grotto) and Boots (Arehaza Cave) are both along the Red River. Plan a single run through the area to collect both.

The Gloves need a separate trip. The Gale of Judgement Cave is on the Denn River, east of Drywind Valley — a different area from the Red River pieces. Factor this in when planning your route.

Refine everything immediately. Each piece is already at Refinement 4 when you find it. Push them to max refinement at any Blacksmith to unlock their full stats. See our how to reinforce equipment guide for step-by-step instructions.

No set bonus, but it still works. Like all armor in Crimson Desert, the Golden Greed set provides no bonus for wearing all five pieces. You can mix and match pieces with other sets where needed, and the stats still apply individually.

Is the Golden Greed Set Worth Collecting?

Yes — it is one of the strongest plate armor sets in the game and entirely free if you know where to look. No boss fights, no crafting materials required. Just a handful of hidden chests spread across the Crimson Desert and Tashkalp regions.

The Chest piece alone, with DEF 14 and passive health regen, is worth prioritizing early. The Helm’s Daze Immunity is quietly powerful — it prevents a status effect that can completely shut you down in tougher fights. And the Gloves and Boots give you strong attack stats alongside defensive Abyss Gears, which makes this set excellent for aggressive melee builds.
