The Aeserion weapons are some of the best craftable gear in Crimson Desert. They look incredible with their golden serpentine design, hit hard, and come with three Abyss Gear sockets. Every single one of the 10 weapons in the set is tied to Aeserion, the Great Serpent — an ancient god trapped in the land of Pywel. If you want these weapons, you need to go find him.
This guide covers everything — where to get the Blueprint, how to farm all the materials, and how to actually craft each weapon.

Step 1: Find the Aeserion Gear Blueprint
Before you can craft anything, you need the Blueprint. It is a 10-page book hidden at the Serpent Shrine, which sits at the southwestern tip of Delesyia — west of Three Brothers’ Cliff in the Dewhaven Territory.
Once you arrive at the shrine, make your way to the southern side of the island. Look for a narrow gap between two rocks near the cliffside. Squeeze through it to find a secret cave. Inside the cave is a Treasure Chest containing the Aeserion Gear Blueprint Crafting Book.

Here is the most important part — open the book and read every single page individually. All 10 pages must be read separately. Just picking up the book is not enough. After reading all pages, you will permanently unlock blueprints for all 10 Aeserion weapons in your Knowledge menu.
One thing to note before you head there: you need the Focused Force Palm skill to break through certain barriers at the shrine. This skill is unlocked in Chapter 5 during the Forbidden Knowledge questline.
You can also earn a free Aeserion Sword before crafting by completing the Shackled God faction quest in Delesyia. This quest has you defeating three Ancient bosses — Priscus, Praevus, and Primus — before cleansing Aeserion himself. Once complete, you receive the sword as a reward. It is a solid starting point if you are curious how these weapons feel before grinding materials.

Step 2: Understand the Shared Materials
Every Aeserion weapon needs three core materials. These are non-negotiable across all 10 recipes:
- Aeserion’s Scales
- Platinum
- Bismuth Ore
Each weapon also requires additional materials specific to its type. We will cover those per weapon below. First, let’s make sure you know how to get the three shared ones.
How to Get Aeserion’s Scales
Aeserion’s Scales are only found in one place in the game — the Serpent Shrine island where you grabbed the Blueprint.

Once on the island, look for pentagon-shaped icons on your minimap. The scales are scattered across the ground all over the southern half of the island. They look like white, nail-like steel scales.
To pick them up, use your Axiom Force hand to grapple them. Then seal them into your Kuku Pot by pressing Triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox. This is required to store them safely. A single visit to the shrine can yield around 50 scales, which is a good haul.
Before heading to a Smithy to craft, open your inventory and take the scales out of the Kuku Pot. They need to be in your regular inventory to be used in crafting.
You can also send Greymane comrades to farm scales passively. Talk to Ross at your camp, select the Delesyia: Serpent Shrine Exploration option, and assign comrades with the Explore trait to run the route for you.
Note: The island deals constant environmental damage, so avoid visiting too early in the game.
The scales are also used for gear refinement, so collect as many as you can during each visit. They are the key ingredient for pushing your equipment to max levels too. See our guide on how to reinforce equipment in Crimson Desert for more on that.
How to Craft Platinum
Platinum is a special crafting material and it is one of the bigger grind points for this set. Many players get stuck here because it is not crafted at a regular Cauldron — it is made at a Witch station.

Step 1 — Get the Platinum Blueprint
Head to the Scholastone Institute in the southern part of Hernand. Note that this area only opens up after Chapter 4. Go through the large central door, walk past the reputation vendor on your left, head up the stairs, and loop back on yourself. The Platinum Blueprint is sitting on a shelf at the top. Pick it up and examine it to learn the recipe permanently. You can sell the book after.
Step 2 — Gather the Ingredients
To craft one Platinum bar, you need:
- x1 Gold Bar
- x4 Brimstone
- x3 Mercury
- x2 Holy Water
Gold Bars can come from mining, smelting, or pickpocketing nobles in the Demeniss Wildlife Park area. Check out our full guide on how to get Gold Bars in Crimson Desert.
Brimstone is found in the Clay Urn Necropolis, west of the Hex Sanctuary near Dreadfire Mountain. The area is full of crabs covered in Brimstone — kill them to collect it. You can also trade Thin Hide with the troll scholars at Scholar Stone to earn Brimstone as a reward once you hit 100 reputation.
Mercury is trickier. There is a Mercury pool just north of the Hex Sanctuary. You need to fire an ice-imbued Charged Shot into the liquid Mercury to collect it. Make sure you have the Elemental Charge Shot skill (second tier of Imbue Element) unlocked first. For more on using elemental attacks, see our elemental attacks guide.
Holy Water can be obtained through certain quests or alchemy.
Step 3 — Craft at a Witch
Go to a Witch. The first one you encounter in Hernand is in the Witch Woods (unlocked in Chapter 5). Interact with her and select Craft Abyss Gear. Press R2 on PlayStation or RT on Xbox to navigate to the Special Items tab. Craft your Platinum from there.
Batch crafting is smart here. Do not travel all the way out to a Witch for one Platinum bar. Gather enough materials for 5 to 10 bars at once before making the trip.
How to Get Bismuth Ore
Bismuth Ore looks like golden square-shaped blocks scattered across Pywel. You need the Lightning skill to mine the deposits.
The best farming spot is the Valley of Grief, east of Tashkalp in the Crimson Desert region. There is a large Bismuth vein here. You can also find and kill the Queen Bismuth Oreback Crab in this area, which drops 50 Bismuth Ore on death.
Check our dedicated how to get Bismuth Ore guide for more locations.
All 10 Aeserion Weapons and Crafting Requirements
Once you have read the Blueprint and stockpiled your core materials, head to any Smithy in the game. Select the Crafting tab and you will see all the Aeserion weapons listed there. Here is the full breakdown of the weapon set:
One-Handed Weapons (Kliff only)
- Aeserion Sword — Aeserion’s Scales, Platinum, Bismuth Ore, plus additional common materials
- Aeserion Dagger — same core trio plus dagger-specific materials
- Aeserion Mace — same core trio plus mace-specific materials
Two-Handed Weapons
- Aeserion Longsword — core trio plus additional materials; usable by Kliff
- Aeserion Spear — core trio plus spear-specific materials; usable by Kliff
- Aeserion Halberd — core trio plus halberd materials; usable by Kliff
- Aeserion Greataxe — exclusive to Oongka
- Aeserion Greathammer — exclusive to Oongka
- Aeserion Warhammer — exclusive to Oongka
Ranged Weapon
- Aeserion Bow — core trio plus wood and hide-based materials
Some weapon recipes also call for Silver Ore and rare gemstones like Epidote and Azurite. The best place to farm gems is the Stoneback Crab Wetlands east of Demeniss. The ore nodes there respawn every seven in-game days, so visit regularly.
Important note: The Aeserion Greataxe, Aeserion Greathammer, and Aeserion Warhammer are Oongka-exclusive weapons. Kliff cannot equip them.

Tips Before You Start Crafting
Collect as many Aeserion Scales as possible on your first shrine visit. You will need them for both crafting and gear refinement. Running short later means another trip out there.
Batch your Platinum crafting. The material grind for Mercury and Brimstone adds up fast, so prep for multiple bars in one session.
Do not skip the Shackled God quest. Completing it gives you a free Aeserion Sword with +22 attack, Level 5 refinement, and three Abyss Gear sockets. It is a great weapon on its own and helps you understand the set before investing resources into crafting more.
Bismuth Ore farming is easier if you deal with the Queen Stoneback Crab. Take her down for a bulk drop. See our guide on how to find and beat Queen Stoneback Crab.
