Jetragon in Palworld is the iconic Legendary Dragon that has been a symbol of the game since the very first trailers. In Version 1.0, it received a new location, a higher level, and a buffed Partner Skill that makes it one of the most powerful flying mounts and combat Pals in the entire game. If you played before the 1.0 update and are heading back to Mount Obsidian, you will not find it there anymore. This guide covers exactly where Jetragon is now, how to get there, how to beat and capture it, and what to do with it once it is yours. Jetragon’s New Location in Palworld 1.0

Jetragon’s old spawn at Mount Obsidian near coordinates -789, -321 no longer exists in Version 1.0. If you are following an older guide or an old map, those coordinates are outdated — Jetragon was moved, not removed.

In Palworld 1.0, Jetragon now spawns on Sunreach Island — the new floating sky island chain that also holds Eidrolon, Ophydia, and other endgame Pals. The Alpha encounter appears as “Legendary Celestial Dragon Jetragon” at approximately coordinates -553, -1332, on the northwestern area of the Sunreach map. It spawns on an island just north of the Waterlily Gorge fast travel point and does not appear in the World Tree at any time of day.

The boss marker will appear on your map once you are close enough to the correct area. If you arrive and do not see it immediately, adjust your altitude and circle the nearby platform — it should appear as you close in.

How to Reach Jetragon on Sunreach Island

Sunreach is a late-game region, so you cannot get there the same way you would reach earlier areas of the map. There are two routes.

Method 1: Feybreak Tower Portal (Recommended)

Head to the Feybreak Tower at approximately coordinates -1294, -1669 in the far southwest of the main map. You do not need to defeat the boss inside. Just mount your flying Pal, fly to the top of the tower, and interact with the portal. This teleports you directly to Sunreach near the Sunreach Tower fast travel statue. From there, head northwest toward coordinates -553, -1332 for the Jetragon encounter.

This is by far the quickest route. Use the Sunreach Watchtower fast travel point at around -292, -1495 as a secondary anchor once you have activated it.

Method 2: Fly Directly

Also note: Sunreach is full of high-level hostile Pals, many of which are Level 65 and above. If you are already on Sunreach for other reasons — hunting Eidrolon or farming Soralite — Jetragon is in the same general area and worth hitting in the same run.

What Level Is Jetragon in Palworld 1.0?

In the current version, the Alpha Jetragon is a Level 70 encounter. This is a significant increase from its pre-1.0 Level 50 spawn, so players returning from earlier versions of the game should not underestimate it. You need to be at least around Level 63 or higher to survive its attacks. Lower-level players can be one-shot by a single hit from Jetragon, so do not rush into this fight before you are ready.

How to Beat Jetragon in Palworld

Jetragon is a pure Dragon-type Legendary Pal. It hits hard, has a large health pool, and uses a mix of Dragon and Fire skills that can overwhelm an unprepared party. Here is how to approach the fight.

Jetragon’s Weakness

Jetragon takes increased damage from Ice attacks — this is its only elemental weakness. Stack your party with high-level Ice-type Pals for the fastest result. Top picks include Frostallion, Cryolinx, and any other strong Ice Pal you have leveled up. Avoid Dark and Neutral Pals — Jetragon deals increased damage against Dark types, so bringing them into this fight puts you at a disadvantage.

Combat Strategy

• Bring Pals at Level 65 or higher. Leveled Ice-type counters are far more important than just having the right element at a low level.
• Use ranged weapons to keep pressure on Jetragon while repositioning away from its attacks. Timed Rocket Launcher hits can open damage windows.
• Recall Pals before they take a big hit. Jetragon’s moves can knock out a Pal in one or two strikes if you are not careful.
• Repair your weapons and pack food before leaving base — reaching the coordinates only to discover a broken weapon means another long flight back.
• In multiplayer, teaming up with other players makes the fight significantly more manageable.

How to Capture Jetragon in Palworld

Jetragon has a low base capture rate, and at Level 70 that means standard or even Ultra Spheres burn through your supply without much to show for it. Use the best spheres you have available.

• Ancient Spheres — minimum recommended; unlock at Tech Level 74 and require Paloxite to craft
• Legendary Spheres — best capture rate available; use these if you have them

Stock up on 15 to 20 spheres before you go. A missed throw at this level costs the sphere with nothing to gain. Here are the key tips to maximize your chances:

• Weaken it first. Chip Jetragon’s health down to the lowest point you can safely manage without killing it.
• Throw from behind. A back-throw gives a capture rate bonus — circle around Jetragon before committing the sphere.
• Apply a status effect. Freezing Jetragon grounds it temporarily and increases capture odds.
• Set a base or camp nearby. Building a small base close to the encounter lets you fast travel back quickly if you are knocked out and need to restock.

How to Breed Jetragon in Palworld

Unlike most Pals, Jetragon cannot be bred from two different species. In Palworld 1.0, the only breeding combination that produces a Jetragon egg is Jetragon + Jetragon. That means catching the Alpha is the required first step — you cannot bypass the fight through breeding alone.

Once you have caught your first Jetragon, the best use of breeding is to improve it. Pair a male and female Jetragon with strong passive skills to produce offspring with better IVs and inherited passives. The best passive build for a Jetragon focused on speed is: Legend + Swift + Runner + Nimble. That combination stacks movement speed bonuses on top of its already massive base sprint speed of 3,300.

You can also hatch a Jetragon from a Huge Dragon Egg (the purple one with black stripes) if you find one in the world — though it is not guaranteed and depends on RNG.

Jetragon’s Partner Skill — Aerial Missile

Jetragon’s Partner Skill is Aerial Missile. It has two parts:

• Jetragon becomes a rideable flying mount — the fastest in the entire game at a sprint speed of 3,300
• While mounted, you can rapidly fire a missile launcher at enemies

To activate this skill, you need to craft Jetragon’s Missile Launcher. This unlocks at Technology Level 79 and costs 5 Technology Points. Craft it at the Pal Gear Workbench or the Ancient Workbench. Once equipped, you can fire homing missiles at targets while riding Jetragon in the air, making it a dominant combination of speed and firepower in one mount. Note that the missiles cannot stun bosses, but they deal strong sustained damage against regular enemies and field encounters.

Jetragon’s Active Skills

Jetragon comes with a strong kit of Dragon and Fire-type attacks, plus one exclusive move:

• Flamethrower (Lv. 1) — Shoots fireballs that explode after a short distance, generating smaller fireballs spreading forward
• Dragon Burst (Lv. 7) — Quickly discharges draconic energy, damaging everything around it
• Twin Tornado (Lv. 15) — Generates two flaming tornadoes on either side before launching them at the enemy
• Dragon Breath (Lv. 22) — Exhales draconic breath dealing continuous damage in front
• Beam Comet (Lv. 30) — Jetragon’s exclusive skill; illuminates its wings and fires countless beams as it flies toward the enemy — beams explode on impact
• Fire Ball (Lv. 40) — Creates a giant fireball and hurls it at the enemy; explodes over a wide area
• Dragon Meteor (Lv. 50) — Summons numerous small meteorites and launches them at the enemy

Jetragon’s Work Suitability and Drops

Jetragon has one work suitability: Gathering Level 8. This makes it one of the top Gathering workers in the game, useful for collecting resources from plants and bushes around your base automatically.

When you defeat or capture the Alpha Jetragon, it drops:

• Soralite
• Thermal Core
• Diamond
• Large Pal Soul
• A chance at Rocket Launcher Schematic 4 (rare)
• Jetragon Bounty Token on first defeat

For a speed-focused mount build, prioritize these four passives:

• Legend — +20% Attack, +20% Defense, +15% Movement Speed
• Swift — +30% Movement Speed
• Runner — +20% Movement Speed
• Nimble — +10% Movement Speed

For a combat-focused build, swap the speed passives for attack-boosting ones like Musclehead (+30% Attack, -50% Work Speed), Ferocious (+20% Attack), or Demon God (+20% Attack) if you are willing to trade the Work Speed penalty on a dedicated combat Pal.
