What Is the Tomb of Perdition in Crimson Desert?
The Tomb of Perdition is an Abyss puzzle located in the Crimson Desert region of Pywel. It’s one of the more mechanical Abyss challenges in the game. Instead of light beams or pressure plates, this one has you rotating large golden cubes and carrying batteries to power up the Abyss.
It unlocks after you complete the Dry Valley Abyss and unlock Tommaso in Tashkalp.

Skills You Need Before Starting
Make sure you have these two abilities unlocked:
- Axiom Force — used on yellow dials and to carry batteries
- Force Palm — used to slot batteries into place and activate the final mechanism
If you’re not sure how Axiom Force works, read our guide on how to use Axiom Force in Crimson Desert first. And if you need more Abyss resources generally, check out how to get Abyss Cells in Crimson Desert.
Tomb of Perdition Puzzle Walkthrough — Part One

Step 1. Walk up to the yellow dial. Use Axiom Force to activate it:
- PS: L3
- Xbox: RS
- PC: Left Click
The dial turns blue. The golden cubes rotate and the left cube opens.
Step 2. Enter the left cube. Use Axiom Force to pick up the battery inside.

Step 3. Carry the battery back through the cube to the starting area.
Step 4. Activate the dial again. This time the right cube opens.
Step 5. Carry the battery into the right cube and slot it into the wall. Use Force Palm (R3 / RS / Right Click) to lock it into place.

Step 6. While still inside the right cube, look around. You’ll find two cylinder-shaped batteries. Carry both of them out and back to the starting area.
Step 7. Activate the dial again to reopen the left cube.
Step 8. Take one cylinder battery into the left room and slot it into the left wall using Force Palm.
Step 9. Return to the start. Pick up the remaining battery and enter the right golden cube.
Tomb of Perdition Puzzle Walkthrough — Part Three

Step 10. Stand inside the right cube, but look toward the right room. You’ll spot another yellow dial. Activate it. This rotates the golden cube and exposes the roof.
Step 11. Use the Triple Jump to get out of the cube:
- PS: Square + L3
- Xbox: X + RS
- PC: Space + Left Click
Jump out onto the top of the golden cube.
Step 12. From the roof, use Axiom Force to carry the battery outside the cube.
Step 13. Bring the battery to the connecting slot on the floor to the right. Use a jumping Force Palm to slam it into place.
Step 14. A large dial is now active. Use a jumping Force Palm on it. This restores the Abyss.
How to Claim Your Reward — Don’t Miss the Hidden Chest
Once you activate the final dial, the Abyss is restored. But don’t leave yet.
Climb back onto the rotating cage structure you’ve been working around. Look along the right side of the cage for a hidden chest. It’s easy to miss if you rush for the exit.
Open it to receive the Surge Abyss Gear.
Then exit the same way you came in and turn right. The Abyss Gate is now open. Walk through it to reach the next puzzle and another Abyss Artifact.
What Are the Tomb of Perdition Rewards?
Completing this puzzle gives you:
- Abyss Artifact — used to unlock skills and upgrade stats in the skill tree
- Faded Abyss Artifact — a rarer version used to respec your character. Don’t spend these carelessly. Check our guide on how to respec in Crimson Desert before using one.
- Surge Abyss Gear (from the hidden chest) — a gear socket that adds surge-type effects to weapons or armor. Socket it at any Witch’s Workshop to boost elemental or combo damage.
Puzzle Not Working? Try This
- Battery won’t slot — make sure you’re using a jumping Force Palm, not just a regular Force Palm
- Can’t pick up battery — confirm you’re using Axiom Force (L3/RS/Left Click), not Force Palm
- Cube not rotating — check you’ve activated the correct dial. There are two in this puzzle
- Need to reset — fast travel out to any Abyss Nexus and return. The puzzle resets on re-entry
