What Is the Desert Fragment Puzzle?
The Desert Fragment is one of the Abyss puzzles in Crimson Desert. It’s part of the Path of Providence puzzle chain, a series of seven interconnected Abyss rooms. Each room gives you one Abyss Artifact when completed.
This particular puzzle is a light-reflection challenge. There are 9 cubes in the room arranged in three groups. Your job is to rotate each cube so that a beam of light passes through all of them and hits three separate crystals.
It sounds tricky. Once you know the steps, it’s actually very quick.

How to Finish and Claim the Abyss Artifact
All three crystals are now lit. Exit Axiom Force.
Run to the circular platform at the back of the room. Use Jump + Force Palm to hit it.
This activates the Abyss Gate. You receive one Abyss Artifact and unlock a permanent fast travel point called an Abyss Cresset.
Not sure what Abyss Artifacts are for? They go directly into your skill tree. You can use them to unlock new combat abilities or boost stats like health, stamina, and spirit. Check our guide on how to get Abyss Cells in Crimson Desert if you want to keep progressing the Abyss areas.
Puzzle Not Working? Try This
- Cube won’t respond — make sure you’re fully locked onto the right cube. Cycle through with R2/LT until the cube highlights.
- Light beam disappeared — one of your earlier cubes got knocked out of position. Go back to Cube 1 and redo that group.
- Want to reset — fast travel to another region and return. The puzzle resets on re-entry.
