TL;DR
- Day Off is a free S-Class Solid Arc — Esper Zero’s best free weapon in the game.
- Get it by completing a hidden quest called “The Look of Eclipse” — no quest marker, no hints in-game.
- You must find and talk to a Golden Anomaly NPC named Eclipse at 6 different locations.
- At each location, set the time to 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM, Sunny weather. Eclipse will not appear otherwise.
- This can be completed in a single session by manually skipping time between each step.
- Requires completing Prologue I and II first.
- After getting the Arc, visit Unheard Shores for a bonus secret ending and the World Changer achievement.
What Is the Day Off Arc in NTE?
The Day Off Arc is a free S-Class (5-star) Solid-type Arc in Neverness to Everness. It is the signature weapon for Esper Zero, the main character, and is widely regarded as the best free Arc you can put on them.
Here are its key stats at Level 80:
- Base ATK: 512
- Substat: Charge Efficiency +33%
- Passive — ATK Boost: Increases the wearer’s ATK by 30%
- Passive — Arc: Eclipse: Unlocks the Eclipse ability. When activated, creates a 40-second Eclipse field. During this time, each enemy defeated restores 6 Ultimate Energy to the wearer, up to 5 times. Cooldown: 300 seconds.
Charge Efficiency is one of the rarest and most valuable substats for Zero because it directly speeds up how quickly you can cast your Ultimate. Day Off is currently the only free S-Class Arc in the game that rolls Charge Efficiency as its substat. Getting this early saves you from wasting upgrade materials on weaker Arcs for Zero and gives you a weapon that stays relevant throughout the entire game.
The Arc is a Solid type, which means it can be equipped on Solid-type characters. This includes Esper Zero and other compatible Solid-type characters in your roster. Want more details on Zero? Check our full Esper Zero Build Guide.

Requirements Before You Start
Before you can trigger the Eclipse hidden quest, you need to meet one requirement:
- Complete Prologue I and Prologue II — specifically, you need to have defeated MANISH and completed the Anomaly Commission at the end of Prologue II. Once the main story sends you to your dorm room to rest, you are ready to start.
You do not need to unlock the full map first, but having some ReroRero Phone Booths and Wertheimer Towers unlocked will speed up the process significantly. Read our guide on how to unlock all map areas in NTE if you want to prepare first.
How to Skip Time and Set Weather in NTE
Since Eclipse only appears during daytime Sunny weather, you need to be able to control time and weather before starting this quest. The full process is covered in our guide on how to pass time and control weather in NTE, but here is a quick summary:
- Open the in-game settings or interact with your bed/rest point.
- Navigate to the Time and Weather settings.
- Set the time to 8:00 AM and the weather to Sunny.
- Confirm and the world will update instantly.
You will need to do this between each Eclipse location. It is fast and takes less than 30 seconds each time.
All Eclipse Locations – Full “Day Off” Quest Walkthrough
There are no quest markers for this hidden chain. Eclipse moves to a new location each time you find and speak with her. Below is every location in order.

Location 1 – Bureau of Anomaly Control (BAC) Headquarters
This is where the quest begins. The Bureau of Anomaly Control (BAC) is located in Area M10, at the far south of the map near the starting zone.

- Set the time to 8:00 AM, Sunny.
- Fast travel to the ReroRero Phone Booth at BAC Headquarters.
- Once you spawn in, turn right. You will see a bright, glowing Golden Anomaly in the corner of the main hall. This is Eclipse.
- Approach her and talk to her. She will tell you she does not understand humans. Exhaust all her dialogue.
This triggers the hidden quest. Eclipse will now move to her next location. She cannot be interacted with if the sun is not up, so if she appears to be sleeping or unresponsive, double-check your time and weather settings.

Location 2 – Rooftop of the Film Studio (Near Hankaku Street)
After speaking with Eclipse at the BAC, skip time to the next day at 8:00 AM Sunny and head to the film studio rooftop.

- Head northeast of Hankaku Street in the Bridge Crossings area.
- Find the film studio building and climb to the rooftop. The building is climbable — use your stamina carefully to reach the top.
- Find Eclipse on the rooftop and speak with her. Exhaust all dialogue.
Eclipse will be curious about what she observed from this height and want to explore further.

Location 3 – Rooftop of a Gift Shop Building (Illusion Town)
Skip time again to the next day at 8:00 AM Sunny and travel to Illusion Town.

- Head to Fiscus Avenue in Illusion Town, going east from the Wertheimer Tower.
- Look for the gift shop building — you can spot it by the gift box icon on or near it.
- Climb the building to reach the rooftop.
- Find Eclipse at the top and talk to her. Exhaust all her dialogue before she moves on.
If Eclipse does not appear, go back to the time settings and make sure it is still 8:00–8:30 AM and Sunny. Weather can reset if you have been traveling for a while.

Location 4 – Coastal Highway (Beach Near Hankaku Street)
Skip time again to the next day at 8:00 AM Sunny and head to the Coastal Highway area.

- Head back to Hankaku Street and walk east, crossing the street toward the beach.
- Look for Eclipse near a staircase leading down to the beach. She is standing near the entrance to the beach area, not on the beach itself.
- Talk to her and exhaust all dialogue.
This is one of the easier locations to find because she is at ground level. No climbing required here.

Location 5 – Tikal Bridge (First Pillar / Bridge Tower)
This is the most challenging location. Skip time to the next day at 8:00 AM Sunny. Tikal Bridge is the large red bridge near the Bureau of Anomaly Control — it closely resembles the Golden Gate Bridge.

- Head to Tikal Bridge near the BAC area.
- Find the rope or cable on the side of the bridge and start climbing up.
- Near the top of the first pillar, you will need to glide to the lower arch, then climb from there to the higher arch at the very top.
- Eclipse is waiting at the top of the first bridge pillar. Climb slowly — slow climbing does not consume stamina, so take your time.
- Talk to Eclipse. She will appear to be preparing something dramatic. Exhaust her dialogue and persuade her to stand down. She will then teleport away for the final time.
This climb is the most involved part of the whole quest. Take it slowly and use your glider for the arch sections. Getting a character with good stamina or movement helps here. Consider having Haniel or a mobility-focused character in your team for this leg of the journey.
Location 6 – Back to Bureau of Anomaly Control (Final Step)
After the Tikal Bridge conversation, skip time one more time to 8:00 AM Sunny and return to where it all started.

- Fast travel back to the BAC Headquarters ReroRero Phone Booth.
- Turn right and find Eclipse in the same corner where you first spoke with her.
- Talk to her one final time and exhaust all dialogue.
- Eclipse will reflect on everything she experienced and decide to join your side. She hands over the Day Off S-Class Arc as a reward.
The Arc will be added to your inventory immediately. Equip it on Esper Zero right away for a significant power boost.
Bonus: World Changer Achievement and Secret Ending
Getting the Day Off Arc is not quite the end of Eclipse’s story. There is one more optional step that unlocks a secret ending and the World Changer achievement, which also rewards a small amount of Anima currency.

- Equip the Day Off Arc on Esper Zero first.
- Travel to Unheard Shores in the southwest part of the map.
- Find the Orichalcos Imaginist Tower and look for a Curious Kid nearby. He will say he wants to see a solar eclipse.
- Make sure it is midday — around 3:00 PM — so the sun is facing in the direction the kid is looking.
- Use the Day Off Arc’s active ability (press R on PC or B on controller) to summon Eclipse and create the eclipse effect.
- Talk to the kid again. He will react in awe.
This completes the “Look of Eclipse” easter egg chain and unlocks the World Changer achievement. It is a memorable moment and well worth the extra five minutes.
Tips to Complete the Eclipse Quest Faster
- Do the whole thing in one session. You do not have to wait real-world days between steps. Simply skip time in the settings between each location and you can complete all six stops back to back in about 30–45 minutes.
- Unlock fast travel points in the areas first. If you have ReroRero Phone Booths near Hankaku Street, Illusion Town, and Tikal Bridge, the travel between each step is very quick. Check our full map guide for help: How to Unlock All Map Areas in NTE.
- Always reset time and weather between each stop. Eclipse disappears during rainy weather or nighttime. If she is not at a location, the most common cause is wrong weather or time. Reset to 8:00 AM Sunny and check again.
- Take the Tikal Bridge climb slowly. Rushing the climb and running out of stamina will send you falling back down. Slow climbing conserves stamina. Use your glider for the arch section.
- Equip the Arc before heading to Unheard Shores for the secret ending. You cannot trigger the World Changer achievement without Day Off equipped and active.
Why Day Off Is Worth Getting Early
This quest is one of the best things to do right after finishing the Prologue. Here is why:
- It is completely free — no Tri-Keys, no gacha pulls, no Fons required.
- Day Off is the only free S-Class Arc with Charge Efficiency, which is one of the hardest substats to obtain for Zero and is essential for fast Ultimate rotations.
- The Arc works for both DPS and support roles on Zero. The Eclipse ability restores Ultimate Energy even when Zero is off-field, which fits both playstyles.
- You can get it very early in the game, before you waste materials upgrading weaker Arcs.
Once you have Day Off, you will not need to replace it with anything until you invest in Zero’s actual signature paid Arc. For all free-to-play players, this is a must-grab.
