Chiz Overview – Who Is She in NTE?

Chiz is an S-Rank Cosmos DPS in Neverness to Everness. She is the Lobby Manager at the Pink Paws Bank in Hethereau City. She looks timid but she is anything but weak in combat.

What makes Chiz special is that she is completely free. You get her by progressing through the game and raising your Tycoon Rank. You also automatically unlock her full C6 (all six Awakening copies) through the same Tycoon progression. No gacha pulls required at all.

Her signature Arc, Contemplative Cat, is also free at max T5 refinement via the City Tycoon system. This makes her the most accessible S-Rank character in the entire game.

She uses a short staff and her beloved Brown Sugar Boba in combat. Her whole kit is built around a unique resource called Grain and a mini stock market mechanic called the Grain Market. It sounds complicated at first, but it clicks quickly once you play her.

Chiz Skills Explained – The Grain System

Before you build Chiz, you need to understand how her Grain mechanic works. It powers everything she does.

What Is Grain?

Grain is Chiz’s special combat resource. It fills up as you attack. The more Grain she holds, the more bonus Cosmos DMG her Redirect Skill deals. Think of it as her power gauge. You want to keep it as high as possible before dumping it all into a big skill combo.

What Is the Debt State?

When Chiz runs out of Grain completely, she enters the Debt state and takes on Grain Loans. She can still attack and deal Cosmos DMG while in debt. Her Redirect Skill consumes these Grain Loans to deal damage. Some Awakenings actually make Debt state more useful, so do not panic when it happens.

Basic Attack – Exiled Swordplay

Chiz performs up to 5 consecutive attacks dealing Cosmos DMG. Every hit grants Grain. This is your main Grain-building tool. Keep attacking to fill the gauge.

Support Skill – Blighted Vale / Barren

Press to throw Brown Sugar Boba at enemies, dealing 2 hits of Cosmos DMG and granting Grain and Fons. This triggers up to once every 2.5 seconds. Hold this button during Basic Attack combos to create a branch attack for extra Cosmos DMG, more Grain, and bonus Fons. If this skill defeats an enemy, it grants up to 250,000 bonus Fons (cap raised to 500,000 at Tycoon Level 25). This is Chiz’s unique money-making mechanic – she earns the in-game currency just by fighting.

Redirect Skill – Grain Charges (Core Damage Tool)

This is Chiz’s most important skill. It stacks up to 3 charges. Here is how the three tiers work:

No Grain (1 charge): Deals 1 hit of Cosmos DMG based on current Grain count.
Half Grain (2 charges): Continuously consumes Grain while dealing sustained Cosmos DMG. When it ends, all remaining Grain (including Grain Loans) is consumed in one hit.
Full Grain (3 charges): Fires all three tiers in sequence for maximum damage. This is your full burst rotation.

When Chiz is in the Surplus state, pressing Redirect Skill activates Pink Paws Priority Principle, which deals bonus Cosmos DMG based on all available Grain. This is the big payoff hit after using her Ultimate.

Ultimate – Zero-Sum Game

Chiz throws Brown Sugar Boba to deal AoE Cosmos DMG and enters the Grain Market state for 7 seconds. Here is what happens inside the Grain Market:

The first Grain Settlement is guaranteed to Critical Hit.
All remaining Grain Loans are converted back into Grain and Chiz enters the Surplus state.
All Grains are invested into the Grain Market. Press Redirect Skill during this window to trigger Grain Settlement based on current Grain Price fluctuations.
Timing your Redirect Skill at peak Grain Price delivers the highest burst damage.

This is Chiz’s main damage window. Use your Redirect Skill charges inside it for maximum output.

Critical Dodge Riposte

After a successful Critical Dodge, pressing Basic Attack triggers a riposte. Chiz leaps and sends Brown Sugar Boba crashing into enemies for Cosmos DMG, reduces enemy Break, and grants Grain. Use it whenever you can. It is free Grain and damage.

1. Contemplative Cat (Best in Slot – Free)

This is Chiz’s signature Arc and the clear best option. The effect is simple but powerful: it increases Cosmos DMG by 2.5% for every 100,000 Fons Chiz holds, up to 10 stacks. That is a potential 25% Cosmos DMG bonus at base, scaling even higher with T5 refinement.

The best part? You can get this Arc completely free and at max T5 through the City Tycoon progression system in NTE. To maximise the damage bonus, you need at least 1,000,000 Fons in your wallet. Chiz earns Fons through Basic Attacks and her Blighted Vale skill, so maintaining a high balance is doable with regular play.

2. Cosmos Daze / Wild Reverie (Strong Alternative)

If you use Chiz’s Support Skill frequently, Wild Reverie provides an 18% to 30% damage boost after Support Skill use. A solid secondary option with good uptime in active combat.

3. Be Happy (F2P Survivability Option)

Restores 12 to 20% HP after defeating an enemy. This is purely a survival pick for players who need extra sustain while learning Chiz’s rotation. Not optimal for damage but useful early on.

Best Cartridge (Console Build) for Chiz in NTE

Lost Radiance (Best Choice)

Lost Radiance is the definitive Cartridge for Chiz. Here is why:

2-piece (Epic) bonus: Cosmos DMG +10%.
4-piece (Legendary) bonus: Ignores 25% of enemies’ DEF for 20 seconds after casting Ultimate.

The 4-piece effect lines up perfectly with Chiz’s burst window. After you use Zero-Sum Game, you immediately benefit from 25% DEF penetration for the entire Grain Market duration. This massively boosts her damage during the most important 7 seconds of her rotation.

Shadow Creed (Alternative)

Shadow Creed grants up to 35% increased ATK after using her Redirect Skill. It is a decent substitute if you are still building towards a full Lost Radiance set. The ATK% buff is consistent and easy to maintain given how often Chiz uses her Redirect Skill.

Module Stats to Aim For

Main stats: Cosmos DMG Bonus > CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK%
Substats: CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > DMG% > ATK% > ATK

Chiz’s Console also grants a 10% Cosmos DMG Bonus per Type III Module equipped. Prioritise Type III Modules for the Cosmos DMG stacking, then fill remaining slots with stat-efficient options.

Chiz Skill Upgrade Priority

Upgrade Chiz’s skills in this order for the best results:

Redirect Skill first – this is her core damage source. Every upgrade directly increases her burst output.
Ultimate second – Zero-Sum Game powers her Grain Market window. Higher level means better Grain Settlement damage.
Basic Attack third – improves Grain generation speed and consistent damage.
Support Skill and QTE last – useful but lower priority than the first three.

Chiz Awakening Guide

Since Chiz’s Awakenings are fully free through Tycoon progression, you will eventually max them all. Here are the key ones to prioritise early.

Grain at Battle Start

Grants Chiz Grain equal to 100% of her Grain storage limit at the start of combat. This means she enters every fight fully stocked. No warm-up needed. You can immediately use Redirect Skill for damage from the first second of the fight.

Increased Grain Bonus DMG

Increases the bonus Cosmos DMG of Grain by 15%. Since her entire damage output scales with Grain count, this is a direct DPS upgrade that applies to every single Redirect Skill use.

Debt State Grain Efficiency

Increases Grain acquisition efficiency by an extra 50% while in the Debt state. This helps Chiz recover from Debt faster and get back to full Grain sooner, keeping her damage cycle tighter.

Charge Efficiency (On-Field Buff)

Increases Chiz’s Charge Efficiency by 20% while she is the active on-field character. More Charge means more frequent Ultimates, which means more Grain Market windows and more burst damage cycles.

The recommended setup as you unlock more Awakening slots is to stack Max Grain at Battle Start together with Increased Grain Acquisition Rate. With both active, Chiz enters fights fully charged and rebuilds Grain quickly after dumping it, allowing her to deal high DPS continuously without long downtime between skill uses.

Best Team Comps for Chiz in NTE

Chiz’s kit revolves around the Charge reaction (Lakshana + Cosmos + Anima). When Charge triggers, the active character gains 10 Ultimate Energy. This keeps Chiz’s Ultimate uptime extremely high. You want one Lakshana unit and one Anima unit alongside her to trigger Blossom, Remora, and ultimately the full Charge triple-cycle.

Best Team: Premium Triple-Cycle

Chiz – Main DPS, Grain damage output and Grain Market burst.
Hathor – Sub-DPS, fast energy generation, triggers Supernatural Circuit Sync. Covers Lakshana element for Remora reaction.
Jiuyuan – Triggers Blossom reaction, restores energy to the active character, increases Vita Bud cap to 6 for massive AoE Blossom damage.
Haniel – ATK buffer and utility support, keeps team damage high throughout the fight.

This team covers Cosmos + Anima + Lakshana elements simultaneously, enabling Blossom, Remora, and the Charge triple-cycle at the same time. Hathor generates energy fast, Jiuyuan multiplies Blossom output with 6 Vita Buds on the field, and Chiz’s Grain Market timing dictates the burst windows.

Alternative Team: Nanally Swap

Chiz – Main DPS.
Nanally – Pure DPS replacement for Hathor. Shifts the team toward a damage-focused composition.
Jiuyuan – Energy restore and Blossom trigger.
Esper Zero – Fast energy recharge and minor healing support.

If you do not have Hathor, Nanally slots in cleanly. The team loses the Supernatural Circuit Sync effect but gains a pure DPS output model. Zero keeps energy topped up so Chiz can use her Ultimate frequently.

Best F2P Team

Chiz – Main DPS.
Haniel – ATK buffer and utility.
Edgar – Healing and uptime support.
Adler – Applies Remora via Lakshana element to trigger the Charge reaction alongside Chiz’s Cosmos and Anima units.

This team does not require any limited gacha characters. Haniel and Edgar buff and sustain Chiz, while Adler provides the element coverage needed to trigger Charge and keep Ultimate energy flowing. A reliable option for any player regardless of banner luck.

Chiz Combat Rotation

Chiz’s rotation is straightforward once you understand the Grain cycle. Here is the basic flow:

Enter combat with full Grain (guaranteed by the Awakening that starts you at 100% Grain).
Use Basic Attacks and hold Blighted Vale to build up additional Grain while generating Fons.
Use Critical Dodge whenever possible to trigger your Riposte for free Grain and Cosmos DMG hits.
Fire your Redirect Skill charges (up to 3 in a row) to spend Grain and deal bonus Cosmos DMG. The Full Grain version (hold Redirect Skill) dumps everything at once for maximum burst.
Use your Ultimate (Zero-Sum Game) when your Grain is spent and you are in Debt state. The Ultimate converts Grain Loans back to Grain, enters the Grain Market, and guarantees a Critical Hit on the first Settlement.

Placing Chiz in an assigned shop increases foot traffic and reduces ingredient consumption rate.
At Life Skill Level 3, each order accurately served during Owner’s Selection increases the price of that dish – up to 15 times. Revenue per customer rises dramatically, making it very powerful for hitting sales targets.
