TL;DR
- Silo bunkers are unmarked hidden structures on the Hajin map in MW4 DMZ โ not shown on the Tac-Map.
- There are around six confirmed silos, clustered in the northwestern wilderness of the map, west of Chang-san Air Base.
- Known grid locations: A5, A6, A7, B2, D2, D3 โ look for circular shapes on the minimap.
- No key needed to enter the standard bunker rooms โ just find the back door and walk in.
- Inside you’ll find a Basic Weapons Locker, loot containers, and crafting materials.
- The Silo Control Room requires an Ultra-rarity Door Breacher Charge โ generally not worth it.
- Low threat, minimal AI, and barely visited by other players โ one of the best low-risk loot routes in DMZ.
Most players drop into Hajin and head straight for the obvious POIs โ Chang-san Air Base, the prison, the hospital. The silo bunkers sitting in the North Korean wilderness to the northwest? Almost nobody goes there. That’s exactly what makes them worth knowing. No key required, almost no AI, and multiple weapon lockers waiting across a cluster of silos you can chain together in a single run.
This guide covers every confirmed silo location, how to get inside each one, and what you’ll find when you do.
What Are Silo Bunkers in MW4 DMZ?
Silo bunkers are underground hidden rooms buried beneath the large circular silo structures scattered across the northwestern part of the Hajin Exclusion Zone. They don’t appear as named POIs on your Tac-Map, which is exactly why so many players walk right past them without knowing they exist.
Each silo has a corresponding bunker entrance nearby โ always unlocked, no key or code required. Inside you’ll find a short corridor leading to a loot room with a Basic Weapons Locker and containers. Some silos also have a Silo Control Room, which is locked behind an Ultra-rarity Door Breacher Charge.
The best part about these bunkers is the risk profile. There’s usually only one AI enemy inside at most, and rival squads rarely bother with the area since it doesn’t show up on the map as a named location. If you know where they are and other players don’t, you can loot all of them in a single deployment with almost no resistance.
All Silo Bunker Locations in MW4 DMZ
The silos are clustered in the northwestern part of the Hajin map, in the wilderness area west of Chang-san Air Base. On the Tac-Map, letters run west to east and numbers run north to south, so the silo grid squares sit in the far western columns.
Here are all confirmed silo locations:
- Silo A5 โ Northwestern wilderness, upper-left area of the map
- Silo A6 โ Just south of A5, same western column (this grid also contains the Silo Control Room)
- Silo A7 โ Further south down the western edge
- Silo B2 โ Northeastern section of the silo cluster, near the top of the map
- Silo D2 โ Further east, near the northern edge
- Silo D3 โ South of D2, completing the eastern edge of the cluster
Two of the silos near Chang-san Air Base are particularly well-known among experienced players โ the bunkers here can hold weapon lockers containing weapons including the KG-7 Vulcan, making them a legitimate high-value stop without the extreme threat rating that Chang-san itself carries.
The easiest way to spot silos on the map is to zoom into the Tac-Map and look for circular shapes in the northwest. The circles are the surface-level silo structures โ the bunker entrance is never far from the center of each one.

How to Enter a Silo Bunker in MW4 DMZ
The most common mistake players make is approaching a silo from the front. That usually leads to a locked door. Here’s the correct method:
- When you arrive at a silo, don’t try the main/front entrance first.
- Walk around the circular radius of the silo structure and look for the bunker entrance โ it’s set slightly away from the silo itself but always nearby.
- The bunker entrance door is always unlocked โ no key, no code, just walk in.
- Head down the corridor inside. At the end of the corridor, press the button to open the silo hatch.
- A ladder lets you climb out through the hatch once you’re done looting.

The whole process takes under a minute once you know where the entrance is. Clear any AI before you stop to loot โ there’s usually only one NPC in the area, but don’t get caught standing still.
What Loot Is Inside the Silo Bunkers?
The standard silo bunker room holds:
- Basic Weapons Locker โ can contain contraband weapons including the KG-7 Vulcan
- Loot containers โ materials, crafting ingredients, and gear
- Cash โ variable amount each match
- Armor plates and equipment โ useful for restocking mid-deployment
Loot changes each match, but the Weapons Locker is the main draw. It can drop weapons that are worth extracting or selling, and with six silos to chain together in one run you can accumulate a solid haul without ever firing more than a handful of shots.
If you’re chaining silo runs specifically to farm crafting materials for your 3D Printer, it’s worth knowing what recipes are available. See our MW4 DMZ all 3D Printer recipes guide to plan what you need.

The Silo Control Room โ Is It Worth Opening?
Some silo bunkers have an additional locked area called the Silo Control Room. This is most notably found in the A6 grid area, and the route to reach it passes through the underground silo complex near silo 42. The door prompt reads SILO CONTROL ROOM โ LOCKED.
To open it, you need an Ultra-rarity Door Breacher Charge โ one of the rarest consumables in DMZ. The Door Breacher Charge sells for $600 and is found primarily at Police Stations and the 14th Political Prison.
The verdict: not worth it. The loot inside the Silo Control Room doesn’t justify burning an Ultra consumable that’s hard to find and valuable to extract or sell. The standard bunker loot in the surrounding rooms is more than enough to justify the trip. Save your Door Breacher Charges for higher-return situations.
Silo Bunkers vs. Other DMZ Loot Spots
What makes silo bunkers stand out isn’t the individual loot quality โ it’s the combination of low threat, no entry cost, and clustering. You can hit five or six of them back-to-back in a single deployment with almost zero resistance. Compare that to somewhere like Chang-san Air Base where the loot is better but the threat is Extreme.
For a deployment where you want to build up your stash safely, the silo cluster is one of the best routes on the whole Hajin map. Land on the western edge, work your way through the cluster, and exfil. No key unlocks needed, minimal AI, and other squads rarely rotate through.

Tips for Running the Silo Bunkers in MW4 DMZ
- Land on the west edge of the map to spawn close to the silo cluster. It saves time and keeps you away from the higher-traffic POIs to the east.
- Zoom into the Tac-Map before dropping. The circular silo shapes are visible even though they’re not named โ mark them before you land so you know exactly where you’re going.
- Chain all six in sequence. With six silos in a compact area, you can clear all of them in a single deployment. Move from one to the next, clear any AI, loot the Weapons Locker and containers, and keep moving.
- Don’t burn the Door Breacher Charge on the Silo Control Room unless you’ve already looted everything else and have nothing better to spend it on.
- Use the ladder exits. After pressing the button at the end of the corridor, the silo hatch opens above you. The ladder takes you to the surface โ use it instead of retracing your route.
- Bring the right traits. Looting builds reward players with scavenger-focused trait setups. Check our best traits in MW4 DMZ guide to optimise for loot runs.
