TL;DR

  • Open your phone → Character tab → select a character → tap the Clothes icon (bottom left) to change outfits.
  • Outfits are purely cosmetic — they do not change stats or combat performance.
  • You cannot mix and match outfit pieces. Each skin is a full set.
  • Main ways to get outfits: Fashion Shop (Fons or Riftcrystals), Bond Level 10, Scarborough Fair gacha, and story/event rewards.
  • Free-to-play players can unlock several outfits without spending real money.
  • Characters with free Bond Level 10 outfits: Chiz, Mint, Nanally, Fadia, and Jiuyuan.
  • Gliders are changed the same way — just select the Glider option below the Outfit option.

Fashion matters in Neverness to Everness. The game gives you a solid wardrobe system for dressing up your characters and main protagonist, Zero. Whether you want to grind for free outfits or pick up something premium, this guide covers everything — how to change outfits, where to get them, what they cost, and which ones you can earn without spending real money.

How to Change Outfits in NTE

Changing outfits in Neverness to Everness is quick. Here are the steps:

  1. Open your in-game phone.
  2. Go to the Character tab.
  3. Select the character whose outfit you want to change.
  4. On their character page, tap the Clothes icon in the bottom-left corner.
  5. A panel will appear showing every outfit you currently have unlocked for that character — including the default.
  6. Tap the outfit you want and confirm. The change happens immediately.

The new outfit shows up in the open world, during combat, and in cutscenes right away. You can swap outfits freely at any time outside of active combat. There is no cost to switching — only to unlocking new outfits in the first place.

How to Change Gliders in NTE

Gliders work almost the same way. After opening the Outfit section from the Character menu, look for the Glider option just below the Outfit option. Tap it to view and equip any glider skins you own. Gliders are equipped per character, so you can give each character a different one.

Important Things to Know About Outfits

  • Outfits are cosmetic only. They don’t change any stats, skills, or combat numbers. Equipping or removing an outfit has zero gameplay impact.
  • No mix and match. Each outfit is a full set. You can’t combine pieces from different outfits.
  • Outfits are character-specific. A skin purchased or unlocked for Nanally can only be equipped on Nanally. Make sure you own the character before buying their outfit.
  • Default outfits are always available for free. You can switch back anytime.

How to Get Outfits in NTE – All Methods

1. Fashion Shop (Mall App)

The Fashion Shop is found inside the Mall app on your in-game phone. This is the main storefront for outfits in Neverness to Everness. You can also access it by visiting physical store locations around Hethereau City.

Most outfits in the Fashion Shop can be purchased with Fons (the standard in-game currency) or Riftcrystals (the premium currency). Prices vary by outfit tier:

  • Standard outfits: Roughly 1,500,000 to 3,000,000 Fons
  • Lower-tier skins (like School Musings and City Glimmer): Around 980 Riftcrystals or 3,000,000 Fons
  • Premium outfits: Around 2,480 Riftcrystals at standard price, or 1,680 Riftcrystals during a launch discount window

The launch discount is about 32% off. It only comes back during banner reruns, so if you see a skin you want at the reduced price, it’s worth acting on it.

Fons can be earned from quests, Anomaly Commissions, hobbies, Pink Paw Heists, and opening hidden safes around the city. The safe locations guide is a great place to start if you’re farming Fons for an outfit purchase.

2. Bond Level 10 – Free Outfits

Some characters give you a free outfit once you max out their Bond level. This is the best free-to-play route for cosmetics. The following characters unlock an outfit when you reach Bond Level 10 with them:

  • Chiz
  • Mint
  • Nanally
  • Fadia
  • Jiuyuan

Raising Bond takes time but costs nothing beyond regular gameplay. You increase Bond by giving gifts, spending time together, replying to in-game texts, and inviting characters to your home. Check the guide on how to increase Bond fast in NTE and the guide on best gifts for maxing Bond to speed the process up.

3. Scarborough Fair Gacha

The Scarborough Fair is NTE’s unique gacha system. Instead of a standard banner, players roll dice and move across a board. Some tiles contain outfit skins for the featured character.

The 200-pull cosmetic milestone on a Limited Board gives you the featured character’s outfit for free. Pull progress carries over across reruns, so if you start pulling on a banner but don’t hit 200, your progress doesn’t disappear. This makes it worth staying on one banner if you want the character and their outfit together.

If you want to understand exactly how this system works, the Scarborough Fair gacha system guide covers everything in detail. And for the standard gacha system, the NTE pity system explained guide is also worth reading.

4. Story and Event Rewards

Some outfits can only be earned by playing through specific content. These are not available in the shop and are tied to completing certain activities. A few confirmed examples:

  • Hunter Off Duty (Zero) – Complete the Pink Paw Heist and explore the Pink Paws Den area.
  • Graffiti in Progress (Zero) – Reach a high level in the Sea Angler fishing rank. The fishing guide will help you level this up.
  • Unconventional Attire (Zero) – Earn this by going to jail and completing the prisoner exchange with Spider at the Detention Center. Full details are in the Unconventional Attire guide. You’ll also need to know how to escape prison in NTE once you’re done.

Seasonal event outfits are time-limited. If you miss them, they typically don’t return unless the event reruns. Always check the in-game notices for active event windows.

5. Milestone Rewards

A small number of outfits were tied to pre-registration milestones before NTE launched globally. These were distributed automatically at launch and are not currently available to new players through normal gameplay.

Future patches may add new milestone outfits through login streaks, city progression goals, or Tycoon level rewards. Keep an eye on in-game announcements for these.

Esper Zero Outfits – Full List

Zero, the main character, has the most varied outfit collection in the game. Here’s every outfit available for Zero and how to get each one:

  • Default Outfit – Unlocked automatically at the start of the game. No action needed.
  • Hunter Off Duty – Complete the Pink Paw Heist and explore the Pink Paws Den.
  • Unconventional Attire (Prison Outfit) – Go to jail, collect 15 Star Weekly magazines, and exchange them with Spider at the Detention Center.
  • Graffiti in Progress – Reach a high Sea Angler rank through fishing progression.
  • Fashion Shop Outfit (e.g., City Glimmer / School Musings) – Buy from the Fashion Shop for 980 Riftcrystals or 3,000,000 Fons.
  • Standard Shop Outfit – Buy from the Fashion Shop for 1,500,000 Fons.

Zero’s outfits are shared across both the male and female version of the character. If you switch gender later, all outfits remain available. You can toggle gender through the Settings menu after completing a specific side quest — see the guide on how to switch your Appraiser in NTE for full details.

Can You Mix and Match Outfit Pieces in NTE?

No. As of launch, outfits are full sets and cannot be mixed and matched. You wear the entire look or none of it. There is no way to combine the top from one outfit with the bottoms of another. This may change in future updates, but it is not currently in the game.

Tips for Getting Outfits for Free

  • Max Bond with the five free-outfit characters first. Chiz, Mint, Nanally, Fadia, and Jiuyuan all give you a free skin at Bond Level 10. That’s five outfits without spending a single Riftcrystal.
  • Don’t skip the Pink Paw Heist. It rewards Zero’s Hunter Off Duty outfit, which is one of the better free looks in the game. Read the Pink Paw Heist guide to complete it efficiently.
  • Farm Fons regularly. Outfit prices look steep but are reachable through consistent play. Use the daily and weekly routine guide to make sure you’re earning as much as possible each session.
  • Wait for discount windows on premium outfits. The launch discount drops premium outfit prices by roughly 32%. Don’t buy at full price if you can wait for a rerun.
  • Pull on limited banners when you want the character. If you’re already trying to get a limited character, the 200-pull cosmetic milestone means you can also get their outfit at no extra gacha cost.
  • Redeem codes when available. Codes sometimes reward Fons or Annulith that help with both gacha and shop purchases. Check the NTE redeem codes list regularly.
