Crimson Desert Fleet of Archives Walkthrough – How to Beat the Power Core
TL;DR
- The Fleet of Archives is the fourth section of the Eternal Corridor in Delesyia’s Abyss chain, reached from the Steelsail Archipelago teleporter pad.
- The main challenge is a boss fight against a massive Power Core that fires deadly lasers.
- You need the Nature’s Retribution skill to beat it efficiently — this is unlocked by upgrading Nature’s Snare to Level 2.
- Nature’s Retribution requires Keen Sense Level 3 and Focus Level 2 first — costing 7 Abyss Artifacts total.
- The Power Core can be beaten in as few as four shots using the reflect mechanic.
- Damage persists even if you die, so do not panic if a laser kills you — just respawn and keep going.
- After beating the boss, fly into its open mouth to find the teleporter pad to the Clockwork Heart — the final section of the Eternal Corridor.
The Fleet of Archives is the penultimate section of the Eternal Corridor and the last big puzzle challenge before the final boss. Up until this point, the Eternal Corridor has tested your traversal and your Axiom abilities. The Fleet of Archives changes the formula and puts a genuine boss fight in your path.
The Power Core waiting here fires lasers accurate enough to kill you in one or two hits regardless of your health. Most players who go in blind die multiple times before figuring out the correct approach. The good news is that once you understand the mechanic, this fight is fast and almost formulaic.
This guide covers everything — how to get to the Fleet of Archives, how to unlock the right skill, the full boss fight strategy, and what to do after the fight is over.

What Is the Fleet of Archives
The Fleet of Archives is an Abyss zone deep within the Eternal Corridor. The Eternal Corridor is Delesyia’s unique Abyss chain, engineered by Marni and accessed through the Gate to Advancement on Mount Benus.
The full Eternal Corridor sequence runs in this order: Gate to Advancement → Skypillar Archipelago → Steamclouds Station → Steelsail Archipelago → Fleet of Archives → Clockwork Heart.
The Fleet of Archives is the fifth section. It is the last puzzle-challenge zone before the Clockwork Heart, which contains the final boss of the entire chain — the Clockwork White Horn.
In terms of lore, the Fleet of Archives is described as a structure containing a dense archive of Marni’s mechanical genius. In terms of gameplay, it is primarily defined by the Power Core boss encounter that blocks your path forward.
How to Get to the Fleet of Archives
You arrive at the Fleet of Archives from the Steelsail Archipelago. At the end of the Steelsail section, after navigating northwest across the floating islands using Jump and Triple Force Palm, you find a teleporter pad in the far northwest corner. Standing on it transports you directly into the Fleet of Archives.
If you are still working through earlier sections of the Eternal Corridor, see the Steamclouds Station & Steelsail Archipelago walkthrough to get caught up first.
Before the Fight – Unlock Nature’s Retribution
This is the most important preparation step. Nature’s Retribution is the skill that makes the Power Core fight manageable. Without it, the fight is extremely painful and inconsistent. With it, the fight can be over in four hits.

What Nature’s Retribution Does
Nature’s Retribution is a Level 2 upgrade of Nature’s Snare, found in the green Spirit Skill tree. When activated, it creates a wind barrier around you that absorbs incoming projectiles from enemies. Once enough projectile energy is stored, pressing the release button fires it back at the source as a powerful charged shot.
Against the Power Core — which does nothing but fire projectiles — this is a perfect counter. Every laser or projectile the Power Core fires becomes ammunition for your next reflected shot.
How to Unlock It
Nature’s Retribution sits in the green Spirit Skill tree and has prerequisites you need to clear first. The full unlock path is:
- Unlock Keen Sense Level 3 from the skill menu
- Unlock Focus Level 2 from the skill menu
- Unlock Nature’s Snare — this becomes available after the above
- Upgrade Nature’s Snare to Level 2 — this automatically unlocks Nature’s Retribution
The total Abyss Artifact cost across all of these prerequisites is approximately 7 Abyss Artifacts. If you are short, backtrack to earlier Abyss puzzles and challenges to farm more.
For sources of Abyss Artifacts and related materials, see our guide on how to get Abyss Cells and the Abyss Gears list.
Once you have Nature’s Retribution, you are ready.

Fleet of Archives – Arriving and Orienting
When you first arrive in the Fleet of Archives, take a moment to look around and orient yourself before advancing. The environment is a large Abyss space with mechanical structures spread across it.
The Power Core boss is the massive structure you can see dominating the area. It fires deadly lasers the moment you come within range, so do not walk blindly toward it without understanding the fight first.
Do not bring Recovery Items as your primary survival strategy. Even maximum health will not protect you from the Power Core’s lasers — one or two hits is enough to kill you at any level. The right approach is not to tank through this. It is to reflect the damage back. Recovery Items are fine to carry as backup, but they are not the solution.
The most important thing to know: Any damage you deal to the Power Core persists even if you die. If a laser kills you and you respawn, the boss retains the health you already took off. You do not need to be perfect. Just keep reflecting until it dies.
How to Beat the Power Core Boss
The Core Mechanic
The Power Core fights exclusively at range. It fires lasers and projectiles at you and does not have melee attacks. This means Nature’s Retribution has a constant supply of projectiles to absorb. There is no phase where the boss becomes hard to hit — your only job is to keep reflecting.
Step-by-Step Fight Strategy
Step 1 – Use Flight to reach a good position Open your wings and use Flight to get off the ground. The Power Core fires lasers, and staying airborne gives you better dodging options and keeps you at the right angle to reflect back at it. Stay at mid-range — close enough to lock on, far enough to have reaction time when it fires.
Step 2 – Enter Focus Mode Press L3 + R3 simultaneously to enter Focus Mode. This is the activation step for Nature’s Snare. Make sure you have the Power Core targeted before entering Focus Mode — this ensures your reflected shot connects.
Step 3 – Rotate the Right Stick to activate Nature’s Snare While in Focus Mode, rotate the Right Stick clockwise. This generates the wind barrier that absorbs the Power Core’s incoming projectiles. Hold this until the barrier is charged.
Step 4 – Release with Nature’s Retribution Once you have absorbed enough projectile energy, press R3 to release Nature’s Retribution. This fires the stored energy back at the Power Core as a powerful concentrated shot. One successful reflect deals significant damage — the fight can end in as few as four shots.
Step 5 – Repeat until the Power Core dies Keep the cycle going: Flight, Focus Mode (L3+R3), Nature’s Snare (rotate Right Stick), absorb the projectile, then release with Nature’s Retribution (R3). Keep your distance, keep targeting the Power Core, and keep reflecting.
If you die mid-fight, just respawn and pick up exactly where you left off. The damage sticks.

After the Fight – Getting to the Next Section
Once the Power Core is defeated, its body opens up. A gap or mouth-like opening appears in the structure.
Fly inside this opening using your Flight ability. Inside the defeated Power Core you will find a teleporter pad. Stand on it to activate it.
This teleports you directly to the Clockwork Heart — the final section of the Eternal Corridor and the location of the Clockwork White Horn, the last boss of the entire chain.
What Comes After – The Clockwork Heart
The Clockwork Heart is Marni’s final mechanical creation and the ultimate challenge of the Eternal Corridor. Inside, you fight the Clockwork White Horn — a mechanical version of the same White Horn boss you may have encountered earlier in Pailune during the main story. The mechanical version is a single-phase fight.
Key things to know before you enter the Clockwork Heart:
Bring Lightning-Resistant Armor. The Clockwork White Horn relies heavily on lightning-based attacks that can stun you mid-combo. Equipping armor with lightning resistance reduces the frequency and severity of these stuns significantly. See our guide on ice and frost protection for general resistance gear advice.
Use Steelbane Abyss Gears. These deal bonus damage against mechanical enemies, making your attacks considerably more effective against the Clockwork White Horn than standard gear.
Your best attack combo is Turning Slash (R1+R2) with Fire Imbuement (L2+R2). This combination deals heavy damage, generates stun, and gives you a window of immunity during the animation. Chain these for consistent, safe damage. See our guide on how to use elemental attacks and imbue elements for more on the Fire Imbuement setup.
Watch out for ground slams and horn charges. Dodge sideways or behind the boss during these. Only attack after the full attack cycle ends. Standing in front of the boss during a charge is an easy way to take full damage.
Defeating the Clockwork White Horn rewards you with the White Horn’s Ring — one of the top accessories obtainable from the Eternal Corridor chain. After that, the Eternal Corridor is complete.

Common Questions
What if Nature’s Retribution is not working on the Power Core? Make sure you are in Focus Mode (L3+R3) first before attempting to absorb. If you just press R3 without entering Focus Mode, Nature’s Snare does not activate. Also make sure the Power Core is targeted before you fire — untargeted shots can miss entirely.
The Power Core’s lasers are killing me before I can reflect. What do I do? Stay further back. The Power Core fires at a fixed pattern and the further you are, the more reaction time you have after seeing the laser charge. Use your Flight to keep moving — a stationary target is much easier for the boss to hit than one that is gliding at mid-range.
I can’t fly inside the Power Core after beating it. Where is the opening? Look for the gap that appears in the front of the structure after it is defeated. Use Flight to glide directly into it. If you are having trouble spotting it, look for the darkened opening where the laser originally came from — that is typically where the mouth opens.
Does my damage reset if I die? No. All damage dealt to the Power Core persists through death. Just respawn and continue reflecting. You do not need to restart the fight from full health.
Can I beat the Power Core without Nature’s Retribution? Technically yes, but it is much harder. Without it, the boss fires lasers you cannot effectively counter and you spend the entire fight dodging rather than dealing damage. A bow with charged shots is the most practical alternative — use Focused Shot and aim for the Power Core’s central body. It takes considerably longer but works.
