What Are the Mumu Cogni Pets in AION 2?

The Mumu Warrior, Mumu Worker, and Mumu Overseer are three Cogni pets from the same creature family in AION 2. Each one counts separately in your pet collection and contributes toward your Cogni Genus Insight board. Like every other pet in the game, all three double as rideable mounts.

The Mumu family is a good group to target because their soul-drop monsters share the same Altgard zone. That means you can efficiently farm souls for multiple pets in the same location. For a full overview of how Cogni pets work across the board, see our AION 2 Best Pets to Farm for Stats guide.

Mumu Cogni Pet Insight Stats (All Three Pets)

All three Mumu pets belong to the Cogni genus. Every Cogni pet gives the same passive stats at each Pet Insight level. Here is the full breakdown:

    • Pet Insight Lv. 1 — HP +10. Unlocks: Mount. Grants 500 Cogni Genus Insight EXP. (Costs 5 souls to unlock, then 25 more to reach Lv. 2)
    • Pet Insight Lv. 2 — HP +20, Critical Hit +1. Unlocks: Mount Glide. Grants 250 Cogni Genus Insight EXP. (Costs 75 more souls to reach Lv. 3)
    • Pet Insight Lv. 3 — HP +30, Critical Hit +2, Might +1. Unlocks: Transformation. Grants 250 Cogni Genus Insight EXP.

These stats apply per pet. Maxing all three Mumu pets adds HP +90, Critical Hit +6, and Might +3 to your character permanently — stacked on top of every other Cogni pet you own. That is why building a wide Cogni collection pays off over time. See our AION 2 List of All Pets for the full Cogni pool.

Mumu Warrior: How to Get It and Where Souls Drop

Monster Soul Drops — Mumu Warrior

The Mumu Warrior soul drops from three monsters in Altgard, all at 100% per kill:

    • Mumu Watcher — Level 32 Normal monster. Found in Dranactus, Altgard. 6 spawn points. Drops Soul: Mumu Warrior (Bound) at 100% per kill.
    • Gribade Mumu Warrior — Level 40 Normal monster. Found in Eastern Gribade Highland, Altgard. 22 spawn points. Drops Soul: Mumu Warrior (Bound) at 100% per kill. Aggressive — attacks on sight.
    • Mumu Watcher — Level 41 version. Also found in Altgard. 6 spawn points.

The Gribade Mumu Warrior in Eastern Gribade Highland is the best Mumu Warrior farm. With 22 spawn points at level 40 and a 100% soul drop rate, you can collect souls quickly in a single area. The Mumu Watcher at level 32 in Dranactus is a good early option if you are still in that level range. Note that the Gribade Mumu Warrior is aggressive, so be ready for it to engage when you get close.

Chest and Merchant Sources — Mumu Warrior

You can also get the Mumu Warrior without farming monsters:

    • Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound)
    • Growth Pet Chest (Bound)
    • Mysterious Pet Chest (Bound)
    • Black Cloud Merchants — Special and Pets tabs (rotates)
    • My Reliable Friends II Achievement
    • Nightmare Altar Ascension Trial — Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme
    • Sanctum of Loathing Ascension Trial — Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme

Mumu Worker: How to Get It and Where Souls Drop

Monster Soul Drops — Mumu Worker

    Mumu Worker

The Mumu Worker soul drops from one monster in Altgard:

    • Escaped Mumu Worker — Level 33 Normal monster. Found in Battlescar Mound, Altgard. 33 spawn points. Drops Soul: Mumu Worker (Bound) at 100% per kill.

The Escaped Mumu Worker is one of the most spawn-dense soul farms in the game — 33 spawn points concentrated in Battlescar Mound. You will rarely be waiting for a respawn. This monster is level 33, making it accessible to Asmodian players during their normal leveling path through Altgard. There is even a Duty quest called King of the Hill that sends you to kill the Escaped Mumu Worker, giving you a bonus reward for doing what you would already be farming.

Keep in mind the level penalty rule: stay within 10 levels of the monster for normal soul drop rates. If you are too high level, drops become much rarer. At character level 45, all monsters scale to 45 and the penalty resets. For tips on farming souls at scale, see our AION 2 How to Get Pets Fast guide.

Chest and Merchant Sources — Mumu Worker

    • Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound)
    • Growth Pet Chest (Bound)
    • Mysterious Pet Chest (Bound)
    • Black Cloud Merchants
    • My Reliable Friends II Achievement
    • Nightmare Altar Ascension Trial (Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme)
    • Sanctum of Loathing Ascension Trial (Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme)

Mumu Overseer: How to Get It

The Mumu Overseer has no open-world monster soul drop. There is no monster in the field that drops its soul directly. You can only get it through chests, the Black Cloud Merchants, or other reward sources.

    Mumu Overseer
    Mumu Overseer

    Sources — Mumu Overseer

    • Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound)
    • Growth Pet Chest (Bound)
    • Mysterious Pet Chest (Bound)
    • Pet Soul Chest: Cogni — Use this to stack Mumu Overseer souls after you own the pet, since there are no monsters to farm them from
    • Black Cloud Merchants — Special and Pets tabs (rotates)
    • My Reliable Friends II Achievement
    • Nightmare Altar Ascension Trial (Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme)
    • Sanctum of Loathing Ascension Trial (Easy, Normal, Hard, Extreme)

Because the Mumu Overseer cannot be farmed from monsters, leveling it to Pet Insight Lv. 3 is harder than the Warrior or Worker. The Pet Soul Chest: Cogni is your main tool for stacking Mumu Overseer souls once you have the pet. This is also why it is a strong pick for completing harder Cogni Genus Insight milestones — chest-exclusive pets are rarer and count toward tougher collection goals. Check our AION 2 Pet Selection Chest Guide for more on chest sources.

How Many Souls Do You Need to Max Each Mumu Pet?

The soul cost is the same for all regular pets:

    • 5 souls — Unlock the pet (Pet Insight Lv. 1)
    • 25 more souls — Reach Pet Insight Lv. 2
    • 75 more souls — Reach Pet Insight Lv. 3 (Max)
    • 105 souls total — Per pet to fully max

To max all three Mumu pets, you need 315 souls in total. The Mumu Worker is the fastest to max thanks to 33 Escaped Mumu Worker spawns at 100% soul drop. The Mumu Warrior comes next with 22 Gribade Mumu Warrior spawns. The Mumu Overseer is entirely chest-dependent, so plan ahead if you want to push it to Lv. 3.

How to Unlock Mumu Pet Transformation

All three Mumu pets unlock Transformation at Pet Insight Lv. 3. Here is how it works for each one:

    • Requirement: The Mumu pet must be your active equipped pet.
    • Requirement: The pet must be at Pet Insight Lv. 3.
    • Item needed: Empathy Candy — available from the Festival Shop for 20 Centuryroot Tokens, or as a Pet Collection Status reward.
    • Duration: 5 minutes.
    • Restrictions: Cannot mount during transformation. Cancel before switching pets.

Mumu Pets and Cogni Genus Insight

Every time you raise a Mumu pet’s Pet Insight level, it contributes Genus Insight EXP to your Cogni board:

    • Pet Insight Lv. 1 — Grants 500 Cogni Genus Insight EXP
    • Pet Insight Lv. 2 — Grants 250 Cogni Genus Insight EXP
    • Pet Insight Lv. 3 — Grants 250 Cogni Genus Insight EXP

This is account-wide and permanent. The Cogni Genus Insight board unlocks passive Critical Damage boosts as you fill it out. Three maxed Mumu pets push that board forward by a meaningful amount. Do not mix up Genus Insight (account-wide board) with Pet Insight (per-pet leveling) — they are two separate systems. For the full picture on how to prioritize this, see our AION 2 Best Pets to Farm for Stats guide.

    Mumu Pets Farming Tips

    • Best early farm: Head to Battlescar Mound in Altgard around level 33 for Mumu Worker souls. The Escaped Mumu Worker has 33 spawn points and 100% drop rate — fast and easy.
    • Best mid-level farm: Eastern Gribade Highland in Altgard for Mumu Warrior souls. Gribade Mumu Warrior has 22 spawns at level 40. Note it is aggressive.
    • Mumu Overseer shortcut: If you pull it from a chest, use the Pet Soul Chest: Cogni to level it since there are no monsters to farm. Do not waste Rainbow Soul Crystals on it — save those for Special genus pets.
    • Stay near the mob level: Keep your character within 10 levels of the monster you are farming. Past that gap, soul drops drop off sharply.
    • Use the Source tab: Open Pets, click the pet, and hit Source to get an exact map pin for the soul-drop monster.

Are the Mumu Pets Worth Getting?

Yes. All three are worth adding to your Cogni collection.

The Mumu Warrior and Worker are among the easiest Cogni pets to farm in bulk. The Escaped Mumu Worker alone has 33 spawn points with 100% soul drop, making it one of the best single-pet farming locations in the entire game. You can realistically reach Lv. 3 on the Mumu Worker faster than most other Cogni pets.

The Mumu Overseer is harder to level but still valuable. Owning unique pets that only come from chests fills out Cogni milestones that farmable pets cannot cover on their own. That translates to more Genus Insight board unlocks and stronger passive bonuses. For how this fits into your overall character build, see our AION 2 Endgame Guide.

Other Cogni Pets to Farm in Altgard
