    Nagarant Guardian Warrior

    TL;DR

    • The Nagarant Guardian Warrior is a Cogni pet in Aion 2 that gives HP, Critical Hit, and Might.
    • Its soul drops from the Abyss Nagarant Warrior, a level 48 Elite monster in Sulfur Tree Island – River of Rotten Sap in Chaotic Lower Reshanta.
    • Soul drop rate from this monster is 100% per kill, making it one of the most reliable farming sources in the game.
    • You need 5 souls to unlock the pet, then 25 more for Lv. 2 and 75 more for Lv. 3 (max).
    • It can also be obtained from the Black Cloud Merchants, Cogni chests, and Ascension Trials.
    • This is a late-game pet due to its Abyss farming location — come prepared.

What Is the Nagarant Guardian Warrior?

The Nagarant Guardian Warrior is a Cogni pet in Aion 2. It belongs to the Naga creature family and stands out among Cogni pets because its soul farming location is inside the Abyss — specifically the Chaotic Lower Reshanta zone. That makes it a mid-to-late game pet that requires you to be ready for Abyss content before you can reliably farm it.

Like all Cogni pets, it gives you HP, Critical Hit, and Might as passive owned effects once collected and leveled up. These stats apply automatically — you do not need to have it equipped or riding it. Just owning the pet at the right Pet Insight level is enough.

To see every Cogni pet in one place, check out the Aion 2 List of All Pets.

    Nagarant Guardian Warrior Pet Stats

All Cogni pets share the same owned effect bonuses at each Pet Insight level. Here is what you get from the Nagarant Guardian Warrior:

    • Pet Insight Lv. 1: HP +10 (unlocks Mount) – Grants 500 Genus Insight EXP
    • Pet Insight Lv. 2: HP +20, Critical Hit +1 (unlocks Mount Glide) – Grants 250 Genus Insight EXP
    • Pet Insight Lv. 3: HP +30, Critical Hit +2, Might +1 (unlocks Transform) – Grants 250 Genus Insight EXP

These are permanent passive bonuses. Once unlocked, they stay active for the lifetime of your account. Leveling this pet also feeds into your Cogni Genus Insight, which has its own progression track that pays off the more Cogni pets you collect and max. Want to know which Cogni pets are most worth grinding? See our Best Pets to Farm for Stats guide.

How Many Souls Do You Need?

To unlock and fully max the Nagarant Guardian Warrior, here is exactly what you need:

    • 5 souls to unlock the pet (Pet Insight Lv. 1)
    • 25 more souls to reach Pet Insight Lv. 2
    • 75 more souls to reach Pet Insight Lv. 3 (max)

That is 100 souls total after unlocking to hit the max level. Because the Abyss Nagarant Warrior drops a soul at 100% per kill, the farming math here is straightforward. You will need at least 5 kills to unlock the pet and 105 kills in total to max it out. No RNG headaches — every kill counts.

Where to Farm Nagarant Guardian Warrior Souls

Abyss Nagarant Warrior – Primary Soul Source

The main monster you want to kill is the Abyss Nagarant Warrior. Here are the key details:

    • Level: 48
    • Rank: Elite
    • Location: Sulfur Tree Island – River of Rotten Sap
    • Zone: Chaotic Lower Reshanta (the Abyss)
    • Spawn points: 5 in the global client
    • Soul drop rate: 100% per kill

A 100% soul drop rate is excellent. Most pets have variable or low drop rates from their monsters. Here, every single kill gives you a soul. This makes farming very efficient once you can survive in the Abyss.

The monster is aggressive — it will attack you on sight. It also spawns in Chaotic Lower Reshanta, which is a PvPvE zone. That means other players from the opposing faction can attack you while you farm. Come prepared with good gear and ideally bring friends or check server activity before farming solo.

To find the exact spawn points on the map, open your Pets menu in-game, select the Nagarant Guardian Warrior, and go to the Source tab. It will show a live map pin pointing directly to the spawn area in Sulfur Tree Island.

A Note on the Abyss Farming Zone

Sulfur Tree Island is an area within Chaotic Lower Reshanta, the Abyss layer that allows full flight and open-world PvP between Elyos and Asmodian players. You enter the Abyss through the dedicated Abyss button in your main menu.

Because this zone is PvP-active, farming here is not as simple as farming in Altgard or Verteron. You can be attacked at any time. However, the 100% soul drop rate means you make the most of every kill when you do get safe farming windows. Group up if your faction is outnumbered on your server. For a full breakdown of Abyss content and progression, see our Aion 2 Endgame Guide.

All Sources for the Nagarant Guardian Warrior

Beyond farming in the Abyss, the Nagarant Guardian Warrior can be obtained from several other sources:

    • Black Cloud Merchants – The rotating shop refreshes regularly. Check the Special and Pets tabs often. If the Nagarant Guardian Warrior is available, buying it saves you an Abyss farming run.
    • Mysterious Pet Chest (Bound) – Has a chance to drop this pet.
    • Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound) – Specifically targets Cogni pets with a 2.44% chance per opening for any individual pet.
    • Growth Pet Chest (Bound) – Another chest source that can reward this pet.
    • Pet Soul Chest: Cogni (Bound) – Can drop the soul directly, giving you a non-Abyss route to collect souls.
    • Ascension Trials – Available as a reward across multiple difficulty tiers. Run Ascension Trials regularly to passively earn this pet without Abyss farming.

The Nagarant Guardian Warrior is confirmed as farmable from open-world monsters, obtainable from chests, and purchasable from the Black Cloud Merchants. That gives you three solid routes depending on your character’s current progression. For more on Ascension Trials and which ones to prioritize, see our Aion 2 Best Duty Missions guide.

Nagarant Guardian Warrior Pet Insight Progression

Here is a step-by-step breakdown of what you need and what you get at each stage:

    • Unlock (5 souls): Pet added to your collection. Usable as a Mount. Owned Effect: HP +10 active. 500 Genus Insight EXP added.
    • Lv. 2 (25 more souls): Mount Glide unlocked. Owned Effect increases to HP +20, Critical Hit +1. 250 more Genus Insight EXP added.
    • Lv. 3 (75 more souls): Transform unlocked. Owned Effect increases to HP +30, Critical Hit +2, Might +1. 250 more Genus Insight EXP added. This is the maximum level.

Since the Abyss Nagarant Warrior drops souls at 100% per kill, you are looking at a minimum of 105 kills to fully max this pet. Spread across a few farming sessions, that is very achievable.

Is the Nagarant Guardian Warrior Worth Farming?

Yes — but the answer depends on where you are in the game. Here is who should prioritize it and who should wait.

    Farm It If:

    • You are already doing Abyss content and passing through Chaotic Lower Reshanta regularly.
    • You want to push your Cogni Genus Insight level faster. Every Cogni pet you max adds Genus Insight EXP.
    • You can find the Abyss Nagarant Warrior in a safe farming window on your server.

    Skip It For Now If:

    • You are still early-game and not yet doing Abyss content. There are easier Cogni pets to farm in Altgard and Verteron first.
    • Your faction is severely outnumbered on your server and the Abyss is too dangerous to farm solo.

If you want to compare Cogni pets and figure out which ones to farm first, the Best Pets to Farm for Stats guide covers exactly that. You can also check out what to do right at the start with our Aion 2 What to Farm First guide.

Tips for Farming the Nagarant Guardian Warrior Efficiently

Know Your Zone Before You Go

Sulfur Tree Island is in the Abyss. Check how active the opposing faction is on your server before going in solo. Quiet hours mean faster, safer farming. Busy hours mean you may lose kills to PvP interruptions.

    Use the Source Tab

Open the Pets menu, click the Nagarant Guardian Warrior, and go to the Source tab. It shows you a map pin with the exact spawn locations of the Abyss Nagarant Warrior in Sulfur Tree Island. Do not go in blind.

Check the Black Cloud Merchants First

Before you spend time in the Abyss, check the Black Cloud Merchants. If the Nagarant Guardian Warrior is available there, buying it directly is the fastest unlock option. The store rotates regularly, so make checking it a daily habit.

Open Cogni Chests When You Have Them

If you have Pet Chest: Cogni (Bound) or Pet Soul Chest: Cogni (Bound) in your inventory, open them. You might get the Nagarant Guardian Warrior pet or its souls without any Abyss farming at all. For a guide on pet chests specifically, see our Aion 2 Pet Selection Chest Guide.

    Duplicate Pets Become Extra Souls

If you already own the Nagarant Guardian Warrior and get it again from a chest or the Black Cloud Merchants, it converts into a soul automatically. This helps you push toward Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 without extra farming. Never discard duplicates.

Farm While Doing Other Abyss Activities

If you are already running Abyss content for Abyss Points or gear, the Sulfur Tree Island area is a natural farming route. Killing the Abyss Nagarant Warrior while completing your regular Abyss quests and objectives makes soul collection feel much less grindy.

How the Nagarant Guardian Warrior Contributes to Cogni Genus Insight

Every time you level this pet, you add to your Cogni Genus Insight EXP pool. Here is a reminder of how much each stage gives:

    • Unlocking the pet: +500 Genus Insight EXP
    • Reaching Lv. 2: +250 Genus Insight EXP
    • Reaching Lv. 3: +250 Genus Insight EXP

That is 1,000 total Genus Insight EXP from fully maxing one Cogni pet. As your Cogni Genus Insight level grows, you unlock more slots where you can roll powerful bonus stats using Cogni Soul Crystals. These crystals drop from monsters whose matching pet you have already maxed — so farming and maxing the Nagarant Guardian Warrior also helps you generate more crystals during future Abyss runs.

The Genus Insight system is one of the most important long-term progression systems in the game. Maxing as many Cogni pets as possible early pays off throughout your entire journey. See the Aion 2 Leveling and Progression Guide for how this fits into the bigger picture.
