How to Get Aragorn’s Sword from LOTR in Crimson Desert
TL;DR
- Aragorn’s sword in Crimson Desert is called the Parvel Greatsword — a two-handed weapon with a nearly identical design to Andúril from Lord of the Rings.
- The easiest way to get it is buying it from Leore’s Equipment Shop in the City of Delesyia for 18.54 Silver.
- You can also craft it at any Blacksmith using the Two-Handed Weapons of the World, Vol. III recipe book.
- Crafting requires 14x Iron Ore and 3x Copper Ore.
- Only Damiane can equip and use the Parvel Greatsword — Kliff and Oongka cannot wield it.
- Fully refined to level 10, it reaches 41 Attack and Critical Rate Lv 3, making it one of the best two-handed weapons in the game.
Pearl Abyss didn’t officially announce it, but fans spotted it almost immediately — the Parvel Greatsword in Crimson Desert looks almost exactly like Aragorn’s iconic sword Andúril from The Lord of the Rings. The long, elegant blade, the distinctive guard, the overall silhouette — it’s hard to call it a coincidence. Whether it’s a deliberate Easter egg or just a happy accident, it’s a fantastic-looking weapon with genuinely strong stats. Here’s exactly where to find it and everything you need to know about using it.

What Is the Parvel Greatsword?
The Parvel Greatsword is a two-handed weapon in Crimson Desert exclusive to Damiane, the playable character you unlock during Chapter 3. According to its in-game lore, it’s a folding greatsword made by House Spencer — a noble family known for reinterpreting Delesyian technology rather than just adopting it outright. The blade folds for carrying when not in use, which is a clever design detail that also perfectly explains the distinctive look of the weapon.
Its real draw is the combination of clean design and strong base stats. It starts decent and scales very well through refinement, making it useful well into the mid-game and beyond — not just a cosmetic pick.

Who Can Use the Parvel Greatsword?
Only Damiane can equip the Parvel Greatsword. Kliff and Oongka cannot wield it at all. This is a hard restriction, not something you can work around with gear or skills. So if you want to cosplay as Aragorn striding into battle, you’ll be doing it as Damiane specifically.
This is worth knowing before you spend Silver on it. If you primarily play as Kliff or Oongka, the Parvel Greatsword is one to admire but not buy. If you do play Damiane, though, it’s genuinely one of her better two-handed weapon choices at this stage of the game.
How to Get Aragorn’s Sword — The Parvel Greatsword
There are two ways to get it: buy it directly from a vendor or craft it at a Blacksmith. Buying is faster. Crafting is useful if you’re short on Silver or want to avoid travelling to Delesyia before you’re ready.

Method 1 — Buy It from Leore in the City of Delesyia (Fastest)
The quickest method is purchasing it from Leore, the equipment vendor at the Equipment Shop in the City of Delesyia. Delesyia sits in the far east region of the map. The shop is accessible at any point in the game regardless of your main quest progress, so you can go get it early if you want.
The price is 18.54 Silver Coins. Note that the final price may vary slightly depending on your current reputation standing with certain factions. Higher faction trust can sometimes reduce vendor prices.
Walk into the Equipment Shop, find the Parvel Greatsword in Leore’s stock, and purchase it. If you don’t see it immediately, check that you’re browsing the two-handed weapon section of the inventory. Stock can occasionally appear limited, so check back if it’s not there on your first visit.

Method 2 — Craft It at a Blacksmith
If you’d rather forge it yourself, you can craft the Parvel Greatsword at any Blacksmith in the game. No special crafting station is needed. You do need the recipe book first though.
Step 1 — Get the Two-Handed Weapons of the World, Vol. III recipe book. This is the crafting manual that unlocks the Parvel Greatsword blueprint. Once you have the book, open it and examine it — reading the manual is what actually registers the recipe at your Blacksmith. Simply having it in your bag does nothing until you read it.
Step 2 — Gather the crafting materials. The Parvel Greatsword requires:
- 14x Iron Ore
- 3x Copper Ore
Both are common materials. You can mine them from nodes scattered all over Pywel or pick them up from equipment shops and street vendors if you’re in a hurry. For dedicated mining guides, see our pages on how to get Iron Ore and how to get Copper Ore.
Step 3 — Visit any Blacksmith. Open the crafting menu, select the Parvel Greatsword from the two-handed weapons list, confirm the materials, and forge it.

Parvel Greatsword Stats
Don’t let the LOTR connection fool you into thinking this is just a cosmetic pick. The Parvel Greatsword has genuinely strong stats:
- Base Attack: 15 (at Refinement 0)
- Attack at Refinement 2: 19, with Critical Rate Lv 2 unlocked
- Max Attack at Refinement 10: 41, with Critical Rate Lv 3
- Abyss Core Slots: 5 slots available for customisation
- Character Restriction: Damiane only
The jump to 19 Attack and Critical Rate Lv 2 at just Refinement tier 2 is what makes this weapon worth noting early on. You don’t have to dump a lot of resources into refinement to get a meaningful stat boost — the gains come quickly. At max refinement it hits 41 Attack and Lv 3 Critical Rate, which is strong for a weapon you can buy outright from a vendor.
The five Abyss Core slots also give you a lot of room to build around it. Slotting Attack Speed Abyss Gears is a popular choice since the greatsword’s main weakness is its slow swing speed. A couple of Attack Speed slots noticeably tighten up the feel of combat with it.
For more on refinement and upgrading, see our guide on how to reinforce equipment in Crimson Desert. For Abyss Gear options to slot into two-handed weapons, our full Abyss Gears list is a good reference.
Parvel Greatsword Weaknesses
It’s a strong weapon, but worth knowing the downsides before committing to it:
- Damiane exclusive — If you play as Kliff or Oongka, this weapon is useless to you.
- Slow swing speed — Two-handed greatswords in general are on the slower side in Crimson Desert, and the Parvel is no exception. You’ll feel the weight during fast enemy encounters. Mitigation with Attack Speed Abyss Gears is recommended.
- No sockets at base — You start with zero Abyss Cores slotted. You’ll need to invest in those to unlock the weapon’s full potential in combat builds.
Is the Parvel Greatsword Worth Getting?
If you play Damiane and want a strong two-handed weapon with excellent scaling and five Abyss Core slots to customise, yes — absolutely. It’s one of the better options available at this tier and can carry you well into the mid-game without feeling outclassed. The LOTR inspiration is a bonus on top of real combat value.
